ermmm ts are u hardly have any chance to taste the foods beyond our country's border??? if yes i could understand the reason for ur statement then....i can only say our chefs got better talent in sos n spice mixing...any lapsap ingredient also can make it become eatable... in some countries, i really having hard time to find at least consider "eatable" standard's food....with premium price summore.

QUOTE Durians...best sent to Singapore Mangosteen...best sent to Japan Seafood...selects sent to Hong Kong Left rubbish for us local..... LOOOOOOOOL ahahahahahahahaahaah someone's never been to singapore. ahahahahahahaa. Malaysia mentality = development is bad. export is bad. And no. we get the freshest mangosteens and durian. just learn WHERE to get it. Singapore, UK, they get the worst ever possible quality of food. why? fruits will spoil within 2-3 days. u think they so stupid let their fruits spoil? Obviously they will freeze or add shyt into it. This is not a problem in Malaysia . the only thing is WHERE to find it. This post has been edited by YameteOniichan: Jul 10 2012, 06:15 AM

some may said malaysia lacking world class rating restaurants...hello?? are u malaysian??? we r specialize in making junk become heaven, those idiots who never learned that skills therefore required superb original quality, hence needless great mixture of taste and spices, even basic cooking skill like steam already can make it become best. Who to blame for not having such great quality raw materials?? why we need to import it and pay with premium price?? MALAYSIAN!! weak currency?? also because of we MALAYSIAN~~ moreover, we use to have alot superb quality raw materials such like river fishes, but over-hunting without proper planning, causing these rare perfect materials's population getting lower and lower, some even facing extinction....
btw, in the world of food art, there is no boundary at all...it creates culture but doesnt mean it belongs to them.

I agree what you had comment, most of the restaurant food in KL had drop a lot. Quality cannot maintain, and yet a lot of people never realize it or maybe a lot of people don't care.

QUOTE(Squidward @ Jul 10 2012, 06:21 AM) care to explain about singapore durians? the durian in singapore sold there are frozen, refridgerated, and thawed. This utterly destroys the taste of the durian. it is TOTALLY different from the durian u get from muar, where u camp below the trees and eat right after it falls. when you export fruits, the quality deteorates like gilagila. thats why UK has horrible fruits. they cant produce shyt. But this is from my experience anyways. cuz my family has a couple durian, mangosteen and rambutan plantation land. so we get the best. But even those hawkers who sell at pasar malam, if u can find good one's. the freshest durian.

i've been travelling the world all my life, but the best food is still in Malaysia. in Australia, UK, our food such as roti canai and nasi lemak are very popular and sought for. students sometimes cook and sell it to others, and most of the patrons are Europeans themselves.
I don't know if you got a case of bad luck to encounter rotten food or something, but the food here is of good quality. maybe just the way the sellers handle the foodstuff.

interesting how a food thread can go back to BN
anyway to say malaysia's food is overrated, it tastes good because its made for malaysian tastebuds
in other nations they have their own things that are great, fruits in australia are wonderful, so is coffee. ice cream in italy is godlike, and so on.
