Many locals sing praise about our food (so faptastic). But isit that good? most never seen the outside world. Thai food is major success worldwide. Tom yam half the world know. Our food? bah kut teh barely international. Got a few malaysian restaurants in europe and US, never really took off and expand wildly. interest level quite low. Compare world class sushis


Why? our food generally of low quality produce and use salty, heavy sauce to compensate. Not surprising given our 3rd world status (thanks to BN icon_idea.gif)

Mee goreng? just some fried noodles
Asam laksa? Thai's tom yam more memorable
Roti canai? oily pancake..thats all...
bah kut teh? this one more interesting...but plenty of interseting china dishes that never gone international....bah kut teh meat is consider just so-so compare to top produce from France.


Just compare our produce even!
Durians...best sent to Singapore
Mangosteen...best sent to Japan
Seafood...selects sent to Hong Kong
Left rubbish for us local.....

When a simple burger like Kaw Kaw (by western standards) can become a huge fad, we know our food need serious improve! I say our standard has dropped way below 20 years ago! Pls no more tidak apa attitude and self praise!

Our gomen just dun care about the wellbeing of the rakyat....let banglas run our stalls...let rats dominate...poor cleaning practice...best stuff exported...list cant end!

speaking of foreigner...most malaysians dun realise the myanmar or nepal or bangla that make our food cause standard to drop TWICE! dirty too...

where is the integrity....best hawker fares now just become fast-food chains run by banglas..thats all...

got...3rd world food..think zimbabwe, lithuania, jamaica, philipines, indonesia....

now 1st world...think spain, italy, france, japan, USA....

3rd world food bcos the ppl poor, cant afford high quality materials and talented artists to make food. how many can afford 50 dollar artisan meals in zimbabwe? can use top fish and high quality meat?

What is the real purpose of you eating food? If can fill you up then it is enough lar, no need for high-quality materials and what else.

you really think rm100/kg durian is 20times better cheap durian? come on la.

burger kaw kaw & chatime is a trend, just like 20 years ago, nelson Corn in a cup.

not say rotten...but just disapoint after come back from great places with top food. As a meat and seafood lover, really lacking in malaysia. a decent lobster also hard to find...
