Hi I want to know..for you guys who bought clothes, bags & accessories in chatuchak, how much you usually bargain with the traders? If the starting price for the shirt is say 200 baht, how low will you bargain with them?
Cos I don't want to get scolded like those Hongkie traders. I'm not so good at bargaining also.. sad.gif

Some say start off with 50%. But normally u wont get to deal.

Some traders will give u a angry look if u bargain too much.

Pretty much depends u think its worth paying for it or not.

Basically the same like normal times.

But during CNY, chinatown shops will be closed But they have street festivals like lion dance etc etc..

so far, 99% of time work for me...

Shouldn't compare Chatuchak to Platinum because Chatuchak is a mixture of everything unlike Platinum is focused on fashion stuff like clothes and etc. For me I prefer the former as I'm not really into clothes and prefer looking at a variety of stuff. It's possible to cover Chatuchak in a single visit if you walk systematically.

If you're a first time visitor to Bangkok, I'd recommend the Groovy Map.

sometimes those stalls in chatuchak are already with the price which is really consider super cheap for us, then i wont really bargain unless my frens also buying..then will try to bargain..or else, try to bargain at least by 50%...they will keep on ask u "what price u want?".. my way is..just keep asking back "what price u can give"...sometimes i even give 10% of the price they open..and end up getting the items slightly higher than the price i want...(but anyway still super cheap hehehe)

enjoy your trip..i started to miss bangkok so badly already...
