The 47lm6700 came eventually.....but when fix up & plug onto switch, half the picture gone. Workers told me this the 1st time they encounter this...may likely cause by loadings & transit. Ssssshesh.. Now waiting for anther hour for them to deliver another new units.
Btw, could anyone clarify if it's free 2 packs of glasses or actually 6 glasses altogether. Mine told me only add 2 over the 1 set of family pack glass. Is it advisable to connect the digital out audio frm TV direct to AV system (can watch Astro HD too) or back to original connection of direct frm BD player to AV. Your wise advice is most appreciated. thanks ahead. |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 15 2012, 12:28 AM) The free glasses is depends on what the store gives you.... check with them... ori from the TV shld be inside the box, not the family pack that is given outside of the box.... Thanks. If you are using Astro HD, why dont you use HDMI from Astro -> AVR -> TV...?? HDMI can handle HD images and pics at the same time..... why add another element (TV out or BD Player) in between the Astro source and the AVR (i presume you mean AVR)....?? Actually it's bluray & Astro Beyond hdmi to tv , then frm tv digital audio out to my AV system , instead of bluray player direct digital audio out to AV System. |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 15 2012, 01:36 PM) Without more details, your setup seems strange... You r right. The worker that deliver the tv suggested me such. Frm tv optical out to av thus relying both beyond & bd player with hdmi. I suppose I'm getting lower grade audio. I'm switching back the optical output direct from originally bd player instead. Thanks bud. HMDI allows lossless DTS-MA and Dolby Digital TrueHD to be streamed from the BD player to AVR, which will then process the audio to the speakers.... Digital audio out (i presume you are referring to Optical Out) cannot stream DTS-MA or TrueHD, thus sending DTS-MA or TrueHD audio signals from HDMI BD player to TV will result in the TV processing the signal, and downmix them to DTS or Dolby Digital only, which is then sent to your AVR... this means you are listening to lower grade audio (if you are an audiophile la)... As said, I would assume you are using HDMI BD -> TV -> AV just because your AV dont accept HDMI, and that your AVR only have one optical input... |

QUOTE(Adroger @ Jul 16 2012, 09:32 PM) Since I will be traveling down to KL this Friday, stain around KL area... Where would you guys recommend to get a good buy... say Bukit Bintang and KLCC... Never buy from this giant chain stores ..ie. senQ, Best Denki , Harvey Norman. Their price is explosive. I got mine from my area in Ipoh. Go to other LG dealer stores around your town area & scout for best price. This outlet usually display large LG signboard. They sell cheaper n reasonable. Ok..I did was to call up & also email enquiry to customer service for nearby shp dealer, next LG sales person call me & advice me accordingly or direct me to the shop nearest to my home. Or else u can go to LG M'sian website , click for LM6700 tv, then at the slight right top, search for nearest dealer at your area. Scout around & perhaps demand for the price. How's that ....if u r in Ipoh, I'll recommend you the shop. But I'm not familiar in KL. Lennon can help u in KL. but best Denki do at times offer good price. But I don't shop at this chain shop. I buy Panasonic I go Pansonic dealer, Sony at Sony dealer. They were very much cheaper. Don't go to mall. Town shop are cheaper. Btw, the box for 47" is real huge. Won't fit in the car. After 2 days of playing with my new toy....I'm bloody impress with the tv. It's slim bezel & slick look transform my living hall futuristic deco. Just kidding but seriously darn nice to look at it. Here's my take on overall performances:-
3D - awesome man. Can't see the diff between active 3d & this passive. It's the best comfortable 3d ever. Family & friends of 8 can view in very wide angle. Light & laying on the couch & manage to watch the entire Despicable me in 1 go without strain in eyes. Wifi- with unifi , loads of apps, loads of free 3D samplers, u tube etc. me love K- Pops..free MTV & live, interview etc. I feel so smart owning this smart tv. Audio- with so slim bezel & tv, never imagine it produce quite powerful loud audio. It's way better then my older Samsung LCD & Panasonic Plasma. It surprise me. But then watching bd I'll opt for AV system. HD- pass with flying color. It's colorful , so vibrant. Test in on Astro Beyond HD & bluray. Sure it's better then then my older LCD Samsung, but I luv the Samsung latest LED unit. Donno maybe they tested on their demo disc, thus looks better. I actually luv Samsung but then they do not produce passive 3D. SD- not really my concern. My wife luv watching the poor Chinese drama disc so is my kids with their collection of cartoons on an old DVD player. It's ok only but can see the poor quality of the pics with loads of pixels. Watching tv programmes, none HD is acceptable. All I can say LG produce most slickest flat tv at the moment. Watching 3D on a frameless tv is a whole new experience. It's like see them popping out at the side. Like viewing an aquarium. Donno how to describe...but simply amazing. This goes to watching other HD movies too. Btw, I haven't calibrate my tv yet. I'll take a recommended calibration from website. Meantime, I switch to Vivid color coz I love colors. LG is good with color accuracy & vibrancy. Added on July 16, 2012, 11:33 pm QUOTE(Adroger @ Jul 16 2012, 11:19 PM) Thanks for the great tips... I'll be in Ipoh on Wed, which shop should I go to.... Added on July 17, 2012, 11:45 pm Finally my orders for kids circular polarized glass frm EBay reached me. It cost me only RM54 for 6 pairs. So me kids now can comfortably watch 3d w/o fidgeting or adjusting the adult size glasses. Coz all the glass taint with fingerprints. Now gonna watch my list long of 3D blurays I got frm Amz US & UK. So far 2 thumbs up frm me for IMAX Ultimate Wave 3D & Step UP 3d. Seriously amazing. Gonna watch Transformer , moon 3d later. This post has been edited by Xstan: Jul 17 2012, 11:45 PM |

QUOTE(Kanuki @ Jul 19 2012, 11:13 PM) Need to know where u r from? As said again, for good reasonable price go for none chain home appliance outlet such as SenQ, Harvey, Courts etc. They were explosively expensive. Go for dealer shop with large LG signboard or check out the LG Msia web page, go for LM 6700 then on top right search for dealers near you. That's what I did.Added on July 20, 2012, 12:04 am Yesterday I discover that, though it's user manual booklet enclosed is not much help, the users @ the home menu is very informative. You guys can check it out. For those unsure or do not know how to calibrate the TV there is this user friendly steps by steps calibration for your adjustment or tuning to your liking. BTW, I just tested 2D to 3D conversion is pretty good too. You can even adjust depth of 3D. New things to discover everyday. It's so cool to read Facebook on TV. Now gonna to learn how to sync it to my Android Phone & IPad. The magic remote is now easy to use after several practicing. This post has been edited by Xstan: Jul 20 2012, 12:06 AM |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jul 21 2012, 09:16 AM) I was thinking buying a cheaper non smart tv instead of more expensive smart tv then use the savings to buy a USD80 external android tv media player to turn the dump tv to even smarter tv. Can install whatever apps i like from google play like pps, YouTube, Facebook, tweeter, chrome, TheStar e-paper etc etc and watch over the tv. Yup. It's good idea too. But apps in LG just little different. However I did not explore all of it. A friend of mine also suggest me on this media too for 3D downloads & I was contemplating to get it. Hw much is this media unit? But if it's passive 3D u want than this a good unit. In UK the models quite similar but less one zero like LM 6700 , while in Europe it's LM 670T. Can try to chk review frm Europe model series. What is your opinion ? |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jul 21 2012, 11:14 AM) You mentioned the apps in LG just little different, do you mean apps like FB or YouTube on LG has lesser features then the ones on the Android ? Sure thing the apps is different. LG got their own apps but mainly gear towards movie, MTV etcs. Includes social apps like Facebook. There loads of 3D samples & MTVs. It has it's own games but not as interactive as Google Play of Andriods version. Yes due to limitation on TV, apps on LG is just handful few only.As the matter of fact, the Android TV media player support mini wireless keyboard cum mouse pad via its USB port. I check several online shopping websites, there are various type and selling price from USD50 to USD90. ![]() Added on July 21, 2012, 6:44 pm QUOTE(Adroger @ Jul 21 2012, 02:19 PM) The only setback is that I was not able to connect my audio from the TV to my old DVD surround system. So for the time being, am only able to utilize the built in speakers. Looks like I will have to buy a separate optical audio cable to link in order to get a better sound effect. Yeah...I still say LM6700 a better buy then LW5700 series especially the sleek look itself. I can actually sit staring @ the Blank TV as if it's a piece of Arts. BTW , try explore all the features & calibrate it yrself. Both video & audio has lots of tunings preferences. I manage to tune the flesh tone by discovering a flesh color tune. Both mine vid & aud is on Vivid mode but with some preference calibration. Did u get 2 sets of glasses? This post has been edited by Xstan: Jul 21 2012, 06:44 PM |
