Just upgraded my rig last Tuesday. Need to check with you guys if I had bought the right stuff.
Memory wanted was 1GB 800Mhz DDR2 ram. So I bought this : ![]() And this is the result : ![]() And this is what my BIOS show me can select : ![]() My CPU is Intel CD E2146 (1.66 @ 800 FSB). But my BIOS somehow showing the ram can only be set to max 667 Mhz. Could it be my mobo setting? I'm running on Asus P5B-MX/WiFi-AP. |

QUOTE(nelienuxe_sara @ Dec 13 2007, 11:32 AM) Well, my point is, i do hope everything can be run at default and no changes or OC watsoever is needed. Anyway, i shall be getting the DDR2 800Mhz then..LOL..One more thing, between the Normal Ballistix and Ballistix Tracer, is there any major temperature difference? People are saying the Tracer is hot but by how much when compared to the Ballistix? |

AFAIK 945 and earlier ddr2 based northbridge officially supports DDR2-400/533,DDR2-667, while 965/P35/X38 officially supports DDR2-800 and ur running on p5b-mx, which if i'm correct is 945/946 based. confirmed... its onli officially supports DDR2-667 http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=...494&modelmenu=2 This post has been edited by jinaun: Dec 14 2007, 04:51 PM |

Hi guys, saw a site regarding chips of DDR2 memory.
PC2-6400 Ballistix 4.0-4-4-12 @ 2.2V Micron D9GMH (B6-3) Micron D9GCT (B6-37E) (possible) Micron D9GKX (B6-25E) (possible) Micron D9DQW (BT-37E) From all the D9 chips above, may i know whats their difference especially the D9DQW?Which is the chip that is best for current DDR2 ram and why?Thanks.. |

I would love to know the reason also...PC2-6400 Ballistix 4.0-4-4-12 @ 2.2V Micron D9GMH (B6-3) Micron D9GCT (B6-37E) (possible) Micron D9GKX (B6-25E) (possible) Micron D9DQW (BT-37E) From all the D9 chips above, may i know whats their difference especially the D9DQW?Which is the chip that is best for current DDR2 ram and why?Thanks.. Thought tracers are D9GMH?? Unless you open the heat spreader then you'd know the chips used...I'm not going to risk the warranty.. |

QUOTE(IceBikers @ Dec 25 2007, 08:39 PM) My laptop is using sodimm ddr2 533, can i use ddr2 667 instead of 533(533 is very expensive) it depend on your mobo. u can check your mobo compatibility from internet or just stated what is the model of the laptop. Most(not all) mobo support both 533 and 677. if yes, it will run on 533Mhz or 667Mhz ? thank u if u talk about dual channel, most probably u can if your mobo support it. I using compaq v3010 with 1gb533+1gb677. so, my laptop run in dual channel with 533mhz. |
