it depend on your mobo. u can check your mobo compatibility from internet or just stated what is the model of the laptop. Most(not all) mobo support both 533 and 677. if yes, it will run on 533Mhz or 667Mhz ?

if u talk about dual channel, most probably u can if your mobo support it. I using compaq v3010 with 1gb533+1gb677. so, my laptop run in dual channel with 533mhz.
