I wasn't trolling. Just stating the truth. Macs are overpriced. *shrug*

People who buy Macs expect to pay a premium. Just like people who buy BMWs. Have you heard a BMW owner state that his car isn't 'overpriced' when compared to an equivalent Toyota?
*
when you say that, you can buy kancil only.. cos other than that, every car is over price because all of them also with 4 tires and will bring you anywhere you want XD

Erymanthus,

Crumpler and Tumi has stores in Pavilion. LYP has Targus, no idea on Brenthaven. I'm actually looking for a Booq Vyper to store my MBP RD in. Like to keep the profile slim without looking like I'm hiking to the Himalayas.

Thanks for the feedback.

If all goes as planned, I should be booking the MBP RD in 1-2 months time....now getting ready by researching on laptop bag.....haha, like counting the chicks before it hatches.....

I see. saw in Garage Sales are selling Kingston HyperX ram and bla, 've Pm-ed the seller but does it necessary to get a 1600 Mhz 1? MBP 2012 has come withs 1600MHz.

Any idea roughly how much a 2x8GB will cost? I'm not quite sure how to differentiate desktop ram or laptop ram in Garage Sales. forgive my foolish.  sad.gif

LYP. Go there, fix it up there so that to make sure it works. Unless you're really sure it works, than buy online/shipping. I'm not sure if it works with mine so I brought my Mac portables with me to try it on and make sure it works before I pay.

QUOTE(yarusaru @ Jun 20 2012, 11:41 PM)
yah im also targeting Vertex4..is there any other thing, converter etc that i need for SSD? anyway how abt ur ram? changed to 16gb? biggrin.gif  non KTA also?
*
Vertex 3 I bought comes with the HDD caddy for usage in desktops, but in laptops the space occupied is the same as normal HDD. The connectors are the same as well IIANM. My RAM on my Mac Mini is 2x4GB, non-Apple-recommended. Works fine.

Here's another truth. PC's are cheap, because the so called components that makes them are cheap. Because we are comparing laptop prices here right?

Lets look at the king of cheap, Acer, a comparable spec RM1899 HD3000 Core i5 to the low end 13" Pro.

Body? Plastic all the way.

Keyboard? A light press is enough to wobble the center keyboard area.

Touchpad? Don't make me laugh.

Screen?

Crapware?

You want to use cheap, go and use cheap. Be cheap. But the thing is people who buys mac don't go into laptop forums and troll and say your system is cheap. That only applies to cheap laptop buyers seeking to make themselves feel good by trolling Apple forums and saying that macs are overpriced. We pay the prices for a mac for a multitude of reasons, end of the day because macs are worth it.

Chill bro, many people in the market like to compare orange with apple, when they only tried orange but haven't try apple. This only show his personality. When they not willing to learn and accept new knowledges but instead keep bashing for their own good feeling haha.

Ps. No offence I am a 12 years windows user who jump to mac and dual booting now since 4 years ago. Except gaming I find no advantage in productivity on windows over OSX.

Nah. Just re-trolling a troll.

Honestly speaking, there are some features from Windows 7 that I do wish Mac OS X have, Aero Snap comes to mind. But as many of us using more than one system at work or at home, you do learn to live with it and use workarounds to adapt.

Although I do wonder why most here prefer to get their unit by ordering online?

Hi guys, any recommendations for a good laptop bag for Macbook Pro?

Thanks

I am still using my Solo Vintage - Leather Backpack which I bought for my MBA 13".
It fits my new 15" MBPRD nicely.

i am window user for more then 10 years too, now wana learn and try mac OS, i wont say which is better because both OS are awsome ! seriously when we know what we pay for, it wont be "expensive" because when we break down every parts and material and understand how is the mbp engineered, it is worth for any penny you spend.
so suggest those who like to say overprice on mac, please do some research first smile.gif btw, if current over price laptop, i only can think of allienware. lol

is this seriously how the users and owners of a product which is supposed to cater professionals and intellectuals react to a simple statement (apple products are overpriced) when it could have easily been overlooked?

way to bring irony to the above mentioned monikers.

1. others would be able to elaborate more as when I got my mbp using my student id, it was at the campus store. but afaik the student id check for online purchases are random.

2. I could confirm machine outlets in midvalley and klcc has the display units. a forumer mentioned about all machines outlets having them. perhaps they could confirm it.

Trollbaits and trolling posts reported. Outta my hands and into the hands of the mods. Let's not feed and fatten up the trolls. Don't have to stoop down to their level. Lots of bitterness and hatred on that turf.

All Machines stores in KL and Klang Valley has demo on display.

Was at EpiCenter just now. Their stock levels are in danger of making the store looks like it's closing shop, very sparse and not much choices in terms of accessories. Not everything is about iPhones and iPads. Their MacBook accessories and selections just wanna make you cry only.

Anybody found any "envelope" style sleeves? I have a 13" MBA sleeve that is styled after Steve Job's unveiling of the first MBA, but it won't fit the new MBP RD.

if you dont mind handmade products, (which might have some qc issues at times) have you given etsy a look? found myself a moleskin styled phone cover there recently. an envelope styled sleeve should be easily replicable.

I'd prefer a more reliable entity than handmade ones. For an envelope sleeve to rip at the seams when I'm handling it and causes the MBP to slip out and crash to the floor, not something I'd like to see. I don't mind Etsy for things like decals, etc.

Retina Display MacBook Pro can run THREE external displays simultaneously.

Just in case you run out of space of on that Retina screen. wink.gif

Other World Computing posted this picture on their blog showing a MacBook Pro with Retina Display hooked up to a pair of iMacs serving as Thunderbolt displays and a third monitor via HDMI. This setup powers four screens with a total of 15,680,000 pixels.

The writer of the post, OWC Mike, seemed impressed with the performance of the MacBook Pro:
- "Moving images and media didn’t create any lag and we were able to play video on all four displays simultaneously."

Apple officially supports hooking three monitors into the Retina MacBook Pro, noting in the Thunderbolt ports FAQ in its Support Knowledge Base:
- "MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) can support an HDMI-compatible device on its HDMI port while also using two Thunderbolt displays."

This makes the Retina MacBook Pro the first Mac -- other than a tower-based workstation like the Mac Pro -- to natively power four displays simultaneously.
