I wasn't trolling. Just stating the truth. Macs are overpriced. *shrug*

People who buy Macs expect to pay a premium. Just like people who buy BMWs. Have you heard a BMW owner state that his car isn't 'overpriced' when compared to an equivalent Toyota?
*
biggrin.gif if u haven't use a mac please try it, if u used. The please leave the thread =] it is obviously u do not know how powerful & ease of use the OSX is nod.gif

QUOTE(FishnChipx @ Jun 20 2012, 11:42 PM)
when you say that, you can buy kancil only.. cos other than that, every car is over price because all of them also with 4 tires and will bring you anywhere you want XD
*
you made my day buddy rclxms.gif

QUOTE(mfitri77 @ Jun 20 2012, 11:54 PM)
Here's another truth. PC's are cheap, because the so called components that makes them are cheap. Because we are comparing laptop prices here right?

Lets look at the king of cheap, Acer, a comparable spec RM1899 HD3000 Core i5 to the low end 13" Pro.

Body? Plastic all the way.

Keyboard? A light press is enough to wobble the center keyboard area.

Touchpad? Don't make me laugh.

Screen?

Crapware?

You want to use cheap, go and use cheap. Be cheap. But the thing is people who buys mac don't go into laptop forums and troll and say your system is cheap. That only applies to cheap laptop buyers seeking to make themselves feel good by trolling Apple forums and saying that macs are overpriced. We pay the prices for a mac for a multitude of reasons, end of the day because macs are worth it.

Chill bro, many people in the market like to compare orange with apple, when they only tried orange but haven't try apple. This only show his personality. When they not willing to learn and accept new knowledges but instead keep bashing for their own good feeling haha.

Ps. No offence I am a 12 years windows user who jump to mac and dual booting now since 4 years ago. Except gaming I find no advantage in productivity on windows over OSX.

Hi there, I would like to purchase the mbpr but I wanted to ask for opinion since the scaling of graphic is processed by the processor is the ram consumption will be higher den average mac? If so is the 16gb ram upgrade option worth it?

RAM consumption is the same, but if you have the cash why not get the 16GB upgrade? smile.gif
i got it, but only use 6GB for my daily task.
just worried about future applications, might need more memory to operate
*
Ok noted. My friend telling me the same thing but I just wonder is the upgrade really worth it? Or psycological effect to max it out lol.

Hurray... Full screen apps now works on the external display.. but apple made it only one full screen app can be displayed =.= (Like full screen safari on external display and your computer display just remain blank).. Can't do a double full screen sadly
*
there is a tweak/hack to overcame it =] I do it everyday with my dual screen setup in lion.

actually there isn't any laptop out there that match the hardware of rMBP. But I found that Samsung series 9 laptop do have some good review from many websites, which you can have a look into.

I'm having hard time to decide on the RAM upgrade as well... 8 or 16Gb?  hmm.gif
And looking at the price up from 2.3 to 2.6Ghz processor is so little... it makes me feel like upgrading it as well...
*
It's not worth the Processor upgrade if you really into hardware you will know what I mean, it just basically a higher grade binned same processor with higher clock rate.

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Aug 27 2012, 04:24 PM)
256GB really not enough?

Aiyoh, it costs RM 1700 to upgrade from 256GB to 512GB!
*
for a user of 128gb air to 256gb pro retina, I found no reason 256 is not enough when I can survive with 128gb air. whistling.gif
