proton tint are also branded tint as well..its their workmanship
if u go outside and even choose the most expensive tint...but if the workmanship suck...u will still be going back every week to fix the tint
so workmanship is the key...proton and other car manufacturer cannot do it good enough becuz they dn't have the time to
a "proper" workmanship for the whole car(6 side) will take abt 5-6 hours or more to complete
if u go to a shop and they finished all 6 in less than an hour...thats consider poor workmanship already
a good workmanship require time and patient from the installer

Hello all,
Just got a brand new FLX for my kids. Well not really that new, maybe 150KM already after 2 days.
Haven't done anything to the car yet except put a cheap sound insulator for the hood immediately since the hood has no cover at all and not sure if its working or not since I have no clue how it sounds without it.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing a chassis foaming but would like to ask here if anyone has done it and whether there is any improvement to the cabin noise and deadening effect after foaming.

And what else to upgrade for comfort instead of performance?

Appreciate input from FLX owners.

Thanks

upgrade the sound system. change HU and put in front component speakers, make sure get good ones/reputable brands. good music drowns out the road noise and engine noise.

Aiya, dont scare me bro. I just oni done my tinted last week at Kepong blush.gif
My car already tinted frm Proton. But I make it darker, put 2nd layer. The shop recommended by my fren. They do it in around 1 hour. So far no problem. And my car looks better now with darker tint (I called it Tinted Polis) tongue.gif

Btw bro V12, u ada workshop ka?

its virtually IMPOSSIBLE for a tint done in 1 hour to have good workmanship
the rear mirror alone with demister alone would take 1.5-2 hour already..how can whole car done in 1 hour?..lol
those shop they did shortcut to make it faster actually
1. they never clean your window be4 they tint your windows...and dirty windows makes it not very long lasting
2. your windows will basically become a cutting board....instead of what most pro will do which is measure thn go cut the tint in their board be4 start tinting...these shop did shortcut by cutting a square piece of tint and cut it on the spot on your windows...thats why they did it so fast
and u will see a device that is somewhat looked like used to clean windows...they will use that to swipe the tint on your window so that the tint will stick on your window
and voila...they're done
they didn't even use the heatgun to slowly dry the tint be4 handing it back over to u
using heatgun to slowly dry the tint is very important...thats makes it problem-free for the years to come
my car i sent in at 8AM...i only get back my car at 3PM...it was suppose to be 2PM but he said the rear mirror got some trouble..so extra 1 hour

extra...somemore i saw another joke which is they install the tint outside(outside of the car), not inside which i was like WTF

a few times already i saw them install the tint outside of the car...not inside
even my younger bro saw it and come ask me abt it

Last time i went to this accessories shop to install my radio, its like in 30minutes, he done 3 windows and he just cut the tinting along the window and next stick it.. the heat gun, only used awhile... Im like so surprise he can finish it so fast

chassis foam is not the right material to use if one would consider improving comfort properties. If really want to insulate out road noise and other unwanted noise, sound deadening + insulflex is the best choice.
