Yes, but ad-hoc mode only.
And I tried some service cannot work (e.g. MeeGo built-in upload service when connected, it can browse but unable to upload)

Not sure if Nokia bad for providing ad-hoc wifi only, or Android bad for not supporting ad-hoc wifi....

How to do what?
If you Joikuspot, just turn it on. But your Android wil not be able to detect because Android doesn't support ad-hoc mode. You can google how to enabled Ad-hoc mode on your Android device, but if not wrong, you need to root your device first.

But JoikuSpot have some other limitation as I mentioned before, some service cannot be used or you may encounter access some sites.

Better you use your Android to share the connection to your Symbian.

Free joikuspot has many limitations / port restrictions. The paid one supposedly will work with "most" stuff. Too expensive at RM20 though, for something i will use once in a blue moon. If it was RM2 / RM4 like most apps I would get it.
Too bad the cheaper alternative, EZSpot is "not verified" to work with Belle / 808. Not sure if Nokia or the developer is lazy to submit compatibility testing.

The premium also same, it's only ad-hoc mode.

Your laptop can connect to ad-hoc mode, so no problem there.

Not sure about iPad, you can try if your iPad can detect it.

Ad-hoc yes, but it removes many of the port/application and vpn restrictions.
The free one works with HTTP "internet" only. Too bad it's pricey (compared to other apps in the Ovi Store).

Yes, the ad-hoc is the main issue even paid-premium version. Only Symbian and Maemo/MeeGo smartphones able to connect, but even on premium version, some services cannot be used (e.g. MeeGo built-in upload service). I suppose there's still some restriction even on premium version.

Since ad-hoc only, can't share with Android and some other device, moreover this need to pay; whereas Android tethering is built-in.
