Guys, i saw this on the web. Rm1299, so far the cheapest I could find.

http://www.lazada.com.my/Samsung-Galaxy-S-...k%29-61016.html

Can anyone verify the phone is AP or Original set?

It says 'full manufacturer warranty'. That suggests original set.
But better contact the seller to confirm.

Can ICS update be done through OTA or must connect through Kies? (because when I go into "About Phone", it shows that no update available). Thx!

OTA update not stable. Try Kies - better of the 2 options.

i was prompted via OTA but had to skip it. later i refresh it said no update zzzz

i think you can proceed as long as you have enough battery juice and connection is stable. else be like me do it through Kies.

somehow after upgraded to ICS battery drain is slightly more than before hmm.gif

for G version, ur phone RAM will become 600mb++ only instead of 800mb++. Think twice if you want to upgrade for G version

687MB. Normal usage of RAM is nearly 500MB++. So there is still 168MB to play with.
In truth, it is enough already (except you like ongoing apps VERY much). smile.gif

upgrade to ICS:
- smooth usage
- no camera hang
- latest android 4.0

stay with GB:

depends on users usage. for non-G users, definitely upgrade to ICS coz got no issue regarding the RAM.

Ok. Waiting for ICS is finished.
Now Samsung should:
1. ICS update (fix, tune and improve)
2. Touchwiz update!! Just like SIII!!!
3. Please don't Jellybean. I know RAM will BOOM with Jellybean. tongue.gif
For both G and non-g.
With these, SII still can stand for more than 3 years more.

Let's pray...

look back at galaxy S. they got GB update, but no ICS update. That means sgs2 will not get jellybean update also ?
