Guys, wanna ask can S2 camera take photo while taking a video at the same time?
This is a ICS function or is a HTC function (phone-specific) ? |

QUOTE(freddy manson @ Jun 7 2012, 12:11 PM) So far, HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy SIII can do it.. If there any 3rd party software can do that on s2?I'd seen the video + photo in action.. quite fancy.. It's more of a software problem than a hardware problem right? Because new HTC ONE series basic phone also can do it. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 14 2012, 04:10 PM) In short: Android apps (APKs) are simply compressed archives. Zipaligning arranges the contents of the archives in proper order so that it can run faster and eat less memory (RAM). I guess in computer world, it's equivalent to 'Defrag' programme. So how should I align the zip? Got software to do so?@Dark_Angel: Will do. Currently the only way of doing so is changing kernels, as IINM only Siyah has this. |

Pikachu, Antt00 and others (thank you~ )
as a newbie, can you help me to understand the phone system architecture? Kernel = like a BIOS in computer, the most important thing. ROM = modified version of Windows, like Professional, Home, Student edition. Launcher = modified version of Windows Start button Widget = mini program like Gadget in Windows 7. Script = ?? Correct me of the above if I'm wrong. Wikipedia gives too jargon-ish explanation. Can help to put things into perspective? This post has been edited by kkhong: Jun 14 2012, 06:35 PM |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jun 14 2012, 11:41 PM) Kernel is like a Linux kernel (Windows has its own kernel), that's why you can technically install Ubuntu onto an Android phone (with a different kernel). Thanks a lot. In this case, you can have different ROM with the same Kernel right?Launcher is like a KDE and Gnome, just a user interface to your apps. Widget is like Widgets, nothing can explain them better. Scripts are scripts. Small commands executed batched into a file by the operating systems . What fix you tried? Yeah, need to enable SCHED_DEBUG to get the sched_ options. I understand that the benefit of: custom ROM: different system (like windows professional, home, basic...) custom launcher: different user experience on top of the ROM. custom script: to zip-align and have customized settings on the phone. custom kernel: ??? what benefit it brings? |

Guys, currently want to learn installing custom ROM on S2 (G-version).
There are plenty of ROM from XDA forum, and I understand that CyanogenMod 9 is nightly built and might pose issue that too deep for me to fix. Can recommend me some noob-friendly ICS ROM for a start? |

hi, according to wikipedia there are 8 kinds of screen protector. But here, the screen protector got Diamond-grade?
I want the type that will keep my fingerprint away so I no need to keep wiping the screen on my shirt. What grade is that? This post has been edited by kkhong: Jun 20 2012, 09:27 AM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 28 2012, 09:37 PM) Holy shiat. I think my screen really "burnt in" edi. I have presistent shadows at the top and the bottom of my display that show the outline of my most used app in GB, xScope's control and address bars. How long have you been using the phone? Now I'm not even using xScope any more, no reason for it to be "just a ghost afterimage". So much for AMOLED life expectancy. Fucuk. I wonder if can claim warranty? |

QUOTE(meazurali89 @ Jul 3 2012, 01:53 PM) Yes..is there difference if it g or non-g? I don't think it's true because Nexus is dual-core only and it's running on JB.Added on July 3, 2012, 1:55 pm No..since our hardware arent enough system requirementsfor the os,jb need quad core device as a minimum requiment Maybe officially Samsung won't do it, but custom JB rom might be available. |
