im guessing some kind of nematodes... tetra would eat them for snacks  biggrin.gif

its probably harmless (unless u can see them hanging from ur fish's anus)

if ure so afraid, buy albendazole (zentel) or flubendazole (dog dewormer) n bomb ur tank... last time i bombed my tank (for hydra) they're gone for quite awhile, before reappearing (i gave treatment for 2 days only, worms died, dint kill the eggs)...

some suggest using no-planaria, dunno if that works or not coz i hav no experience using no-planaria... bought but never used >_<
*
I haven't put in any fish in the tank. I had cleared the tank just yesterday, I put in gravels and stones in it. Then I replaced the media in my filter with new bio ring. After that I bought plants to put in the tank from a LFS.. I don't know if the worms came with the plants, but I already soaked the plants in a bucket of water first (maybe not thorough)... If I put in tetras I worry the worms will irritate them..

u will need at least a 1.5 liter bottle. either its compressed co2 or DIY yeast. air pump is for oxygen purpose not co2

i think its usually in the rm30-rm40 range for the refill. that what was quoted for my 10kg tank. maybe less for the smaller bottles...

i got a question regarding O2 tank.
if i use them to substitute air pump, using with those atomizer or diffuser, it will make sure the O2 in the water stays in a safe level right?
it will help to over come those problems when there is blackout while ure out on holiday right?
planning to convert my nitrogen tank into an O2 tank if its ok.

i dunno what will happen if u dose o2 in aquarium, but for human, high o2 can lead to toxicity as well... + other adverse effects...

because i saw an arowana being transported here in the port including with its tank with O2 tank attached to it.. really big and fast bubbles going on inside that tank lol
thinking using diffuser and accurate regulator to maintain it at 1bps per second la to stabilize it.

no idea bro... u can always experiment n show us the result... biggrin.gif

edit: instead of doing that, why dont u hook up ur air pump to UPS, air pump wont use that much of power wat, so im guessing it can cover 1 or 2 hrs of power outtage easily.... plus it is less bulky than adding an o2 tank... biggrin.gif

maybe i should reserch on the O2 grade first since aviation, medical & research grade oxygen is too pure O2,
which may totally kill those bacteria inside the water and maybe other faunas too since it can lead to unhospitable environment and they cost more.
maybe i'll go with those industrial grade O2 since they have the minimum amount of O2 with moisture and mix with other gases. even we also use them to breath.

Edit: this is for my fishes since i usually goes outstation and sometimes i dont comeback more than a week.

pardon me but don't fishes start gulping at surface when its not enough oxygen?

i only scared if the filter didn't start after a blackout. that will be a problem. the fishes will die due to ammonia build up not lack of oxygen.

too high oxygen will lead to algae also...

true,
but some fish cant survive that long with just gulping and they will end up dead.
but from what ive read

QUOTE(Adamantis/William)
With air pumps you put in 79% nitrogen gas and just 21% oxygen. With 100% oxygen, you'll just have to use a few bubbles per second to get the same result. The gas in the reactor gets totally dissolved in the water.

so im planning to do this as a backup plan if anything goes awry with my current plan. Already in the process of making electrical auto waterchange/refill system.
algae is not an issue, since its a part of aquascaping hobby. just a bit *sigh* when trying to clean them though

scuba o2 is mix of nitrogen n o2 if im not mistaken, coz pure o2 n deep sea diving doesnt go together, so maybe u can start reading from there?

nitrogen is quite inert i think...
