Btw talking abt the engine cover, dun yu feel it collects dust that wld hv settled on the rocker cover, COPs & in the channel btwin both banks of DOHC?
With it there, there's LESS dust on those parts...?
And the cover is actually EASIER to clean than those other parts...?
True?
ps. As for the heat part, no comments cos unless we can measure the temp there with & w/o the cover.
Don't want your spirit to be here. Spirit don't bring wallet rite? You datang belanja TT la With it there, there's LESS dust on those parts...?

Anyway, regarding engine cover, there are NO actual answer to anyone, anywhere, anyhow. Simply because it DOES NOT belong to the engine. The main purpose was meant for decoration, whether you like it or not, that's the ONLY function it has. Please find below technical argument useful.
1) Sales assistants always claims it has the function to channel heat from the rocker cover mounting. My argument is, the screw itself is NOT titanium alloy(not effective heat conductor), and plastic does not take heat well, let alone using it as a heat sink? Either you heat up the plastic, melt it or break it.
2) Sales assistants said, due to the AFM produce massive noise, international emission standard does not allow that amount of noise for street cars, and therefore car manufacturer purposely spent millions of dollars to designed this piece of shit to insulate your AFM noise. One fine day I took off my engine cover, me and wifey drove it few days, nobody notice it so I kept quiet. Until I open the bonet and check engine oil, wifey come and make noise said its ugly lar, noise lar, car will not function properly la, car become slow lar, high petrol consumption lar, engine hot lar, worse is... she said stray dogs and cats could go into the engine...
3) Keep warm for the rocker arm/fuel rail/intake manifold during WINTER
Technically, the above 3 REASONS are the only reason they put a plastic cover on the rocker cover. As for dust collection, like it or not, with or without the plastic cover, your rocker sparkplug rail will accumulate dust. If you will not clean it, it will not clean. If you have a plastic cover, you'll have to clean the cover, open up and clean the rocker cover. Unless you're ignorant enough, just leave the dirt stuck at your rocker cover and continue polish your plastic cover.
A good read here
I personally like it WITHOUT the cover, but to each their own.

If your coming from bukit jalil/sunway/OKR, means IOI mall on your right, go straight til you see Mobil station on your left. Take the left turn after the Mobil station (before the flyover u turn), then turn left again into the shops area. You will see a big hawker center with basement car park. Park at the basement.
That's the petrol station make me put a plaster on my injured poor BLM. Btw, not ESSO meh? Thanks for direction.
