Btw talking abt the engine cover, dun yu feel it collects dust that wld hv settled on the rocker cover, COPs & in the channel btwin both banks of DOHC?

With it there, there's LESS dust on those parts...?

And the cover is actually EASIER to clean than those other parts...?

True? tongue.gif

ps. As for the heat part, no comments cos unless we can measure the temp there with & w/o the cover. wink.gif
*
Don't want your spirit to be here. Spirit don't bring wallet rite? You datang belanja TT la laugh.gif Kidding la, if you happen to drop by KL, do let us know so we meet, I'll buy TT then rclxms.gif

Anyway, regarding engine cover, there are NO actual answer to anyone, anywhere, anyhow. Simply because it DOES NOT belong to the engine. The main purpose was meant for decoration, whether you like it or not, that's the ONLY function it has. Please find below technical argument useful.

1) Sales assistants always claims it has the function to channel heat from the rocker cover mounting. My argument is, the screw itself is NOT titanium alloy(not effective heat conductor), and plastic does not take heat well, let alone using it as a heat sink? Either you heat up the plastic, melt it or break it. yawn.gif

2) Sales assistants said, due to the AFM produce massive noise, international emission standard does not allow that amount of noise for street cars, and therefore car manufacturer purposely spent millions of dollars to designed this piece of shit to insulate your AFM noise. One fine day I took off my engine cover, me and wifey drove it few days, nobody notice it so I kept quiet. Until I open the bonet and check engine oil, wifey come and make noise said its ugly lar, noise lar, car will not function properly la, car become slow lar, high petrol consumption lar, engine hot lar, worse is... she said stray dogs and cats could go into the engine... doh.gif My argument is, the plastic cover has been stripped out for several days, nobody notice it UNTIL they see it and all sort of REASONS of existence came up to support the placebo effect of the plastic cover.

3) Keep warm for the rocker arm/fuel rail/intake manifold during WINTER

Technically, the above 3 REASONS are the only reason they put a plastic cover on the rocker cover. As for dust collection, like it or not, with or without the plastic cover, your rocker sparkplug rail will accumulate dust. If you will not clean it, it will not clean. If you have a plastic cover, you'll have to clean the cover, open up and clean the rocker cover. Unless you're ignorant enough, just leave the dirt stuck at your rocker cover and continue polish your plastic cover.

A good read here

I personally like it WITHOUT the cover, but to each their own.

QUOTE(dares @ May 26 2012, 10:13 AM)
If your coming from bukit jalil/sunway/OKR, means IOI mall on your right, go straight til you see Mobil station on your left. Take the left turn after the Mobil station (before the flyover u turn), then turn left again into the shops area. You will see a big hawker center with basement car park. Park at the basement.

That's the petrol station make me put a plaster on my injured poor BLM. Btw, not ESSO meh? Thanks for direction.

This has gotta be kidding. Why you bunch of adults argue over petrol station name? Be it right or wrong, I just wanted to know direction of the cafe. TS is a good guy, and why would 1 always buttseck him? I still dun understand. Because he's easier to be bully? I'd hope you guys PM him for an apology and knowing when to stop making fun of people. Reason for having discussion in lyn is because we're all Gaga's enthusiast, we talk Gaga, eat Gaga, sleep Gaga, drive Gaga, why must argue on so minor thing, besides its not even related to our cars.

Just pop in and ask the kedai logam tauke to order for you. Ordinary use shd be arnd 300-400. Think the quality ady pretty good. If professional type, like those use to grafiti show cars, those type easily cost 1000

More input are most welcome. The sohigh who buttseck you I already buttsecked him during TT. As a matter of fact, we all 6 person actually take turn to buttsecked him already, at 1 point we all buttsecked him all together. Should you feel your rage still exist, nevermind. Next TT we all tie him up, and there's your turn. I'll bring along WD40 incase you need lubricants. There are still good people around... such as... me doh.gif You don't mind if I go find you TT rite laugh.gif

Auto ke manual? If auto, freakin normal. If manual... as abnormal as mine. Depends on your road condition, driving distance and also whether your right foot heavy or not.

Suggest you delete your PARTIAL FUEL UP at fuelly to get a better reading. From what I read, you don't do full tank fuel up, don't you? That is very hard to gauge your ACTUAL fuel consumption. The correct way is to pump full tank, use up petrol and pump in full tank again to calculate your previous trip meter.

Partial fuel up also can be ADJUST to become accurate. Wait until fuel warning blink, reset trip meter. Go petrol station pump RM20 and drive(don't reset trip meter now). Drive until fuel warning blink, immediately note down the trip and reset. Now you have your 1st reading of RM20. Go petrol station fuel up RM20 again and drive until the next fuel warning, do the same as in immediately note down trip meter and reset. Just remember don't reset your trip meter during fuel in, that will minimize the error.

By right it add up another comment on the same post, but the flood control somehow lost control out of the blue. PU? what the different about it? nood in bodykit stuff, can explain about it?
*
PU = Polyurethane, flexible like plastic, elastic and very high tensile strength. Cut the crap short, tahan lasak.
Advantage: road bump proof.
Disadvantage: become wavy over long period exposed under the sun, unless glue it to a core structure to ensure structure integrity. Normally if it's a pure PU, structure can not be too complicated like many holes, EVO3. Lack of support may cause your car's garang look become kasihan look.

Removable is sufficient. Last time Dares told me those fixed type, if accident could crush my balls ohmy.gif Seriously, insurance does not compensate on my the loss of my balls. I rather dai ohmy.gif

Yup, it's actually a "Rubber Stop for Car Wheel".
Now dual purpose... rolleyes.gif
[attachmentid=2861490]

Murah gak... but hor... my manual car got this problem. If I fit in a foot rest, and I did rest my left foot on it, the next thing is when I try to lift my leg and clutch, kasut sangkut clutch pedal ohmy.gif So, until I can customize my pedals to move everything closer, cant fix the foot rest just yet. ohmy.gif

+1 on V12k comment. I drive manual cars, and they all share the similar behaviour. High power vehicle is even more obvious. After gear engaged, if engine not received sufficient fuel to burn whilst cruising at low speed, wheels will kick back engine, as a result felt jerking in the car laugh.gif However, once u get used to it u know when to press the pedal & when not to, jerking can be reduced to minimal. Driven a few CVT GaGa before, they do felt like a manual car with only 1 gear + without clutch pedal laugh.gif kinda like CVT! Will never look back in conventional auto GB. There may be ways to improve it lar, as driven a Kemry 2.4 which doesn't have the jerking feeling like our Plotong. Hope Plotong will look into it, may be software issue blink.gif Never get to test it on the Pervert though, as I whack the car 9 9 during test drive, very smooth acceleration(sprint to be exact laugh.gif) & hard brakings for that whole 30 minutes!

Re: response... Placebo! Big time! 3 year old car add ground cable to increase throttle response?! I'll be damn to buy a car!

Re: vacuum gauge, u did mentioned its a 3 wire setup. I'm guassing the rd wire is NOT ignition. setup shd be as below

+ve - ignition
-ve - ground
Extra cable - parking lamp

When u start your car, it shd be brightlight background. When front light activated, background light become dimmer, so it won't hurt your sight during night time.

It only apply on old car, new saga no matter u on headlamp or not, the meter panel light will not dimmer and remain constant leh.
*
What I meant was, Kenji installed an external vacuum gauge, wiring need to put to parking lamp to activate dim light. Safe to said, the extra parking lamp can be take off, so the light will not dim even front lamp activated. It served the purpose of dimmer only.

I belive his current setup as below

+ve - battery positive
-ve - ground
Extra cable - ignition

Therefore, even his car not start also got light. Not sure whether my guess correct.
