It wasn't easy in the begining, the reply all close ended + sarcastic, make me damn embarrassing. However, think she's a super car enthusiast as well, so I actually push the right button to turn her on smile.gif I guess if I continue ask occupation or ask her out probably won't work though.

Dares, I work in this area every Thursday, so I'm not stalking laugh.gif Its call passing by/ drop by & have breakfast @ the same restaurant.

Okok. Let me just clarify it 1st. I'm a local Chinese. Was doing my Global Economy in South Africa. The whole copying thesis & exam paper is the real deal because my grammatical error is insanely annoying. Whoever copy my work sure they get detected by the lecturer. In the end the lecture grade me the shame of Malaysia because my English even worst than the Singaporeans. Although they speak Singlish, but I'm surprise their write up is very high standard icon_rolleyes.gif

Back to bodykit, I don't know what exactly I want, that's why I ask. We have a long conversation with SiuYi yesterday, and was thinking of a lot of possibilities, couldn't make up my mind still. Was thinking of sets of lowering spring is sufficient shakehead.gif

off topic sekejap, anybody knows how much is the gearbox for kia spectra? i think mine gone kaboom d, change to all gears got sound and cannot move, auto car, well all gears bising n not moving except for P.
*
As r3apers reply, PARTIAL reconditioning auto tranny cost between 600-800. So, r3apers colleague actually got it cheap ady.

PARTIAL as in GB no other major issue, change fork, reallign torque conerter, replae all bearings.if got broken gear... That's entirely different price liao.

Dares, dun like that la.TS seldom get a chance to show off, finally got chance to be sifu, let him :offtopic: abit la. Besides, gearbox refurbish related to our BLM & FL auto wut icon_rolleyes.gif

180 in a Viva, that's REALLY sumthing.  doh.gif

When engage D feel like gonna stall, quickly return to N and wait for the engine to recover. Then gently press the throttle, dont tekan kuat coz it will semput again when your release, just gently press it and gently release. After the RPM is stable, engage D and drive.
*
I don't care about the BiBA, but doing 180 on a GAGA is really sumthing ady ohmy.gif I only managed to try once that hit 190 and never do that again.

For the engage D engine die thing... hmm.gif I thought only old type racing carburator have this problem? Izit loose throttle body? Thermostat jammed? Fuel pump OVER efficient causes overflow? ECU sot² ady? sweat.gif New EFI cars not supposed to have all that rite?

sign0006.gif thing again, but its kinda related if you plan to cut your spring or heat it up. Really not worth the juice as after market performance springs only costs few hundred bucks. See what happen to those who heated/chopped their spring to lowered their ride.

The Getrag tranny, I dunno if it is tuned to the IAFM+ engine as it has slightly different performance figures than the IAFM engine. If it is, best to do an engine transplant as well.
*
For manual transmission cars, their engine management are standalone(semi auto like step tronic/tip tronic/sequential excluded). Changing gear box will not change engine output, but switching from manual to auto or the other way round is entirely different story. Engine will alway detect P & refuse to move.

So, basically changing gear box from manual to manual can only affect gear ratio/torque distribution. No major issue.

Not 2juz complain/get help on probs. Not juz abt the car BUT for the ppl behind the wheel of the car.
Or am I wrong? tongue.gif
*
Partly true. But I think the approach MUST be somehow related to CAR topic, technical wise, driver morale, software(insurance/licensing), even daily life such as driving diary, like engage D engine sudah mau mati, sumore dare to drive 180 doh.gif still dare to komplen kena tapau by BiBA, just how fast 1 demand from the Plotong fitted SIEMEN ECU? shakehead.gif

I like it when people post useful information that I didn't know. For example u introduce me regarding the cabin filter! Like this type of extra information should make it on the 1st post by TS, so everybody aware of it. My car no more butt juice smell! Aircon coil tahan lama bcoz vapor being absorbed by the paper filter! Most of all, its NOT expensib blink.gif besides, this kinda mod is super DIY and only good things can happen to driver+passenger+aircon component, not even related to motorsports and super legal, don't see why we don't do it. As a matter of fact, should have appoint a moderator for this to organize bulk order to get good price!

Now, am I sign0006.gif or what? I believe not. smile.gif

Boss, its not that I dun wan to make it sot, but u know la my England limited, typical china man like me if wanna explain anything sure use more than 500 words 1. Last time primary school write essay my teacher ady komplen me. Hai skol even worse, teacher say ask me do 500 words karangan, I ended up 4 full pages of testpad. Reason being hor, sometimes I can't find a suitable word due to limited vocab, so I had to use longer word to explain it lo. For example, "cut the crap", I would have use "please stop misleading comments so I will not misunderstand" like this lo.

Damn it, I make long post again, and this 1 is genuinely spam post doh.gif

The last part was what I meant, nothing to do with ECU.

The getrag tranny has shorter ratios than the FL/BLM tranny. I'm wondering if that is because it is more efficient for the IAFM+ engine.
*
I've been modifying cars for decades, but have never bother to learn about gear ratio calculation. Those days all we did was changing gears from big CC vehicle tranny to small CC's tranny so the small CC can increase top speed.

So, how to differentiate? Short ratio means the gear smaller and closer ratio to achive top speed? Or the gear bigger and thread far apart to achive pickup?

To cut the crap short, meaning change to getrag can get higher top speed? Or better pickup by sacrficing top speed?

Yayyyyy!!
DIY Item ordered delivered by Poslaju liao! thumbup.gif
Surprised cos 2day Fri ie wkend here...normally NO del wan!

Need only connect 3 wires...to
1. Audio/Power Socket fuse
2. Rear Lamps fuse
3. Grnd

Now my prob is kenot find (2) fuse labelled Rear Lamps!
There's one labelled Meter/Diagnostic. Does the Meter mean Panel Meter? rclxub.gif
Any Bro can help identify (in cabin fusebox) fuse for rear lamps or lamps which are lighted when we on the lamps switch, pls?

If no help, me gotta test 4other probable ones liao... sad.gif

Pleez...TQ!
*
Not necccessarily radio, anything turned on with ACC is sufficient. Right side whole stretch is ACC powered accessories. I use the top fuse to tap my vacuum light, located top right.

The common understanding for brake light/front light/small light is PARKING LAMP. Fuse located at the bottom left.

Good luck. No time to take photo yet. Still driving meeting agents. Next week school holiday, dun want endup 12am only can finish work.

For the hard start during warm eagine can cause by many fact:

1) Loose nozzle head.injector working over time at high spraying volume tend to weaken, unable to retract in time. Excess fuel wet spark plug result in hard crank

2) Our S4P uses independent coil for each sparkplug. Over time driing tend to heat up the coil, spark become weak as a result gotta hard crank

3) New/expired sparkplug gap too near/far apart, result in uneven sparks, especially during hot engine, gap effect become significant. If new sparkplug can loosen the iridium head, whereas for old sparkplug need to be tighten. My uncle's A31 cefiro uses his stock sparkplug for 12 years until the copper head can't be tighten anymore only he change.

4) Last but not least, hot air is bad for ignition. Noon time/after long distance, substatial hot air trapped in engine bay causes uneasy to burn the A/F mixture.

Hope this help. Justify before change anything suggested by the mech. Don't let those mech simply cut throat.

Like I said, apologies if I came off rude - but the answers you provided (though baik ati - Thank you very much) are not answers at all.

Of course I asked Proton - most SC and Sales people don't seem to know - I heard all sort of things like cut cost - reduce heat etc - cover design tak cantik.  Not a lot of it makes sense.  Their helpline - waste of time.  So asking here is almost my last resort as I expected over here there are the experts that know much much more.
*
No one will ever gib you an answer. Howvever, here is something worth think about. Plotong start to plonk in prasstic cober since FIRA SE, then FAJA maCAMPRO, folo by latest batch of FERDANA V6. After that Plotong seems enjoying putting injin cober eberywhere.

So, if u r Tan Sri's relative, just started a prrrastic moulding komany and got bad business, u go ask Tan Sri favor. Then Tan Sri gib instraksyen to factory to gib business to your prrastic factory. Now ebibody got an engine cober regardless its applicable or not. FYI, rocker cover itself IS already the engine cover. With an extra prrastic cober, u warm up your rocker cover faster. With prrastic cober u able to kolek dust, so u can draw VTEC wordings on it eberyweek. More dust u kolek, more stable your car is.

Lately, Tan Sri dun fren u no more. Cut order & cut costs. No more dust koleksyen for FLX.

Ask me opinion, I'd rather Plotong offer opsyenal DISKAUN. Car price 45k, if dun wan prrastic cober instant rebet 1k! icon_idea.gif

1 fine day

Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing (because some sifu mention rocker cover and I am not sure what is that) - the part circled red is the exposed part that concerns me.  And the parts circled green I believe that can screw the cover.  Not sure.

Thanks,

Entirely up to you whether you want an engine cover. Think my wife has a similar thought like you, she wont let me take it off, said its ugly. However, had to clean the engine cover fortnightly is truely pain in the butt. Or you can conveniently convert your engine to VTETEC

so far the car is ok la for first car .. before this i always drive my mom forte .. when driving flx se the sound quite loud T__T even my mom's old wira is not that loud ..

also the jerking from static to moving sometimes can make my car reverse a little bit when naik bukit.

just now I drive from klang to kelana jaya .. menara TM at kg kerinchi and go back to klang using 2 bar .. hopefully the fc can improve after first service ..

I actually never test drive before buying this car ... so far the CVT and the leather interior that makes me excited ..

there goes my exp .. happy.gif
*
I don't own a CVT, but from what I can tell, all new owner of CVT have the same issue, don't know how steep they should step on the throttle. Keep your foot light, don't expect high performance. Its meant to be SMOOTH driving and you obey to that, CVT FC can be wonderful. Infact, most of these people in the forum had proven their CVT FC matches with manual tranny, sometimes even better. icon_rolleyes.gif Glad to hear your great experience. If free, please drop by Asia Cafe Puchong for TT, 9:30pm onwards.
