QUOTE(kongjong @ May 22 2012, 12:11 PM) i stay in a taman got a little hill up and down whenever i enter and exit the taman. 1. Yes, once the slope/hill recognition mode sense a gradient, it will automatically shorten the ratio and apply engine braking during downhill. It is more harsh than CVT in foreign car due to the clutch based system. Not as smooth as those using torque converter or toroidal CVT. 1. so the CVT will roar as the rpm rise when down sloping, right? is the cvt in proton acts the same way to those cvt in foreign car? (no offence, simply asking here). 2. will the SAT helps for a less roaring since is running regular auto transmission? 2. same. It will still stay at 2,500rpm. So, you get the same ROARRRRING no matter SAT is on or off. |

QUOTE(kongjong @ May 22 2012, 05:07 PM) yes. wheel driving up rpm; while rpm runs the fuel. Fuel consumption = angle of throttle body. U full throttle then shift at 2000rpm, do the same for all 5 gears, your petrol consumption is as "GOOD" as a ford mustang GT500. Too long story to explain the scientific stuff.thats y ppl said lower rpm contribute to lower fc. |

QUOTE(kongjong @ May 22 2012, 05:07 PM) yes. wheel driving up rpm; while rpm runs the fuel. kongjong, david is right. If you are downhill and let go of your throttle, it is the car momentum that is pushing the pistons, not fuel. thats y ppl said lower rpm contribute to lower fc. If you let go of the throttle, then the amount of fuel you put in per RPM is still the same as when you let go the throttle when idle. Added on May 22, 2012, 6:05 pm QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ May 22 2012, 05:58 PM) during engine braking, the ECU actually cut off fuel supply to the engine and the engine is running on lean mode. Cut off? You mean zero fuel or reduced fuel? This post has been edited by +Newbie+: May 22 2012, 06:05 PM |
