New 408t alpine white owner here xD

Car is only 2 days old and already clocked 300km coz drove from kl to segamat for work this morning.

So fr tyre noise is a bit unpleasant, maybe bcoz the tyre pressure is too high.

Only prob occured was esp/asr faulty error. Happened when i was cruising normally down the highway after abt 30km, then i had to stop the car at an RnR, shut off the engine, then restart again and the error was gone. But happened again after abt the same 30-50km but i was lazy to stop the car so i just drove with the error and prolly w/o esp/asr. Can this be due to the high tyre pressure?
*
It's only a sensor problem. Don't worry too much about it. At the moment your ESP/ASR may not function. SC will be able to fix this.

Wow, you're right! Didn't see that.

The 408 2.0 is using the proven reliable tech of 407. Still very good value for money.
*
Yes it's proven EW10A engine which has been further enhanced and a new gearbox (AT8). The old gearbox (AL4) has had issues which has been addressed. Definitely value for money!

Clearly my choice in NA C segment. Jap cars are not worth the money. Koreans are pretty close, ones to watch in a few years, but they are getting expensive! If NAZA continues with affordable price,I see a bigger market share soon!

guys, any major discount or promotion now? any left over for 407.. thx..

I asked the same question in Feb this year. Was told all sold out! 407 is a good looking car. Plenty in the used car market.

With the intro of 408, 407 has lost resale value. Try to buy one from owner. Used car dealers are stubborn and will not reduce price much cos they want to make a huge profit. However it's good car if you don't mind it's unsprinted acceleration!

Your car is brand spanking new! Don't worry,as your engine 'beds in', FC will improve. You will see a big change especially after the 10K service. Happy pugging mate!

Today very bad luck. Take my holiday with my family to kl. Make refill at bhp petrol station at r&r tapar. Their feul mix with water. After refill, drive my call from there neare reach sungkai tol. My call pop up error (engine fault, need repair ) my car no more power and turn off automatically. I call for peugeot customer support, tow my to ipoh peugeot service center. I really thank to the service manager and the senior mechanic because waiting for me and really fix my problems. Because today their Work just for half day. Finally arrived kl for my holiday. Thx nasin peugeot. Did a good job. Just beware refill at bhp station at r&r tapar, ipoh to kl side. After repaired my car,i pass the bhp station again, the station total close. Before me i also saw the new mecs s class, new vios and toyota sec on tow. I think they all also kena like me.
*
Good to hear your car was fixed without a hassle and prompt service. I think with the entry of Peugeot Blue Box, customer service is improving. A far cry from previous setup and it is that poor reputation that people always bring up when Pug is mentioned. Well done,if PBB keeps at this phase,we should see more Pugs as people will gain confidence.

Just a quick update. I've noticed since yesterday that gear shift at lower speed is smoother and sometimes unnoticeable when traffic is clear. Does this means that the transmission system is adaptive or am I imagining things?
*
Do a few more test runs. If you can confirm your findings, then you can conclude the transmission has adapted to your driving style. Congrats on your adaptive tranny.Glad to hear your jerky days are gone!

It needs a TCU reprogram. I'd suggest Glenamrie or Balakong would be better. Most other SC may not have the right people to do it. When I tried to get mine done at Geoauto, the front desk guy did not even understand the word 'adaptive'.

I might take the trouble to send my car to Balakong for 10K service, although it's is a bit far for me.Try and sort out the adaptive tranny and the rear door rattle!

Oic. I am wondering what should we do or what will happen to our car if our car break down after office hour? I know we are still covered under the Peugeot towing service but where do they tow the car to?
*
Btw, it's a 24hr service. Night charges may be higher, but then you have to top up on the $150 only.

This seems to be a inherent problem with right hand drive Pugs. Most have complaint a slight left pull, almost unnoticeable, but it's there. If it's a serious pull, then it's alignment. Before buying my Pug,did quite a bit of research, found many 308 owners had the same complaint.

Peugeot SC does wheel alignment, but mine still has the left pull even after alignment done 2 months ago!

I can understand your concerns. I'm actually quite surprised about your jerky gears. Yours being the 6spd Aisin tranny is supposed to be very smooth. I don't even realize gear changes unless I look at the RPM counter. Try Balakong,it being PBB nerve center got some French Engineers there. I'm sure they'll be able to solve your problem.

After you done it,give us your feedback. I too am keen to visit Balakong SC.Tks bro!

Those at JB that have 'pulling to the left' issue can go to Nasim Plentong to do....when I sent my 308 there, the service man very confident how to solve it...it was actually done without any balancing or alignment (I know because there dun have tire service)....and its got nothing to do with tire pressure,
*
Bro care to explain how it was done. Maybe we can try here in KL!

After my S3 upgraded to Jelly Bean,  it won't auto connect to the 408 sound system already.

Sad to say 408 Bluetooth is a little outdated. It does not support new version software.Even auto connect with Android is not possible. Have to manual connect after every engine shutdown. Not sure if there are any updates. However it does auto connect with Blackberry and Symbian software ( Nokia ). Anyone with these might want to consider before updating hp software.

reply to some above..

PUG408T tyre pressure stated as 2.5 bar at the door should be 250kpa..

I also have issue with bluetooth connect previously, which have to reconnect everytime enter the car, what i did is for PUG HU to detect the phone bluetooth, once my phone trigger to accept, my phone will pop up msg as whether to auto connect, select YES and until now it will detect and connect my hp bluetooth....

i also have issue, having like bunyi tikus like spring chit chit sound, then realise i can simulate the sound when i close my rear bonnet...somehow this sound will on and off can be hear, anyone have same issue....

after 8***km mileage driving the car, now really appreciate the car....
*
Is your hp android? If it is,what update is yours? The tikus sound is most probably from the rear left door. I have this although faint, sometimes hear it at high speed. Already mentioned it on my 1st inspection, but still there. Next month will do 10K service, see if it can be fixed!

Yes after 5K mileage the engine seems to have got smooth and nice! Enjoying it very much! Expecting it to be even better with better FC after oil change!

Hi! I'm a newbie here. Previously owned a used 407, now just bought myself a brand new 408. There is none that drives like a pug.
Hi bro and welcome! How to you find the handling of your new pug compared to your old one, leave the engine aside as turbo is much more powerful. You having owned both cars will be the best person to answer this. I was negotiating for a 09 407,that same week 408 was released. Went with idea of getting the NA,but could not resist the turbo after the test drive. This engine is addictive,be careful! Already picked up 2 AES summons!

Contemplating to buy Peugeot 408 Turbo. At the moment still considering the Hire Purchase interest rates. Can all owners or future potential owners share share the interest rates approve, bank and if ok % of deposit (10,20,30)?

The last round I got from Affin Bank (bef announcement of Bajet 2013), was 2.35%. Anyone got lower?
*
5 months ago got my car with Affin Bank loan, 2.42%.

I'm looking into Peugeot 408T but afraid the fuel consumption is high beside the high maintenance cost....
Anyone can provide the actual fuel consumption of 408T???
Thx
*
Like bro jfcheong,I too get around 9.5L/100km on a 50/50 city and urban drive. For me this is acceptable as the power produced is equivalent to a 2.4 liter NA engine, but the FC of 2.4 engine will be a lot more. 408t FC should not be compared with the FC of a 1.6NA. That's like apples and oranges. More fuel has to be used to produce more power.

However, fuel wastage is greatly reduced by these new technology direct injection engines. Combustion is more complete. With turbo, power is greatly enhanced. With all these innovations we are getting power of 2.4NA but FC of 1.8NA engine! You may be wonder why 1.6 litter engine model cost 16K more than the 2litter brethren! It is not the extra frills the 408t carries but rather for the latest technology this engine brings! Let me also tell you at 126K, it is a phenomenal bargain!!! Show me another car with this price, with this spec!!!

You can get better FC than ours. That one have to learn from bro bearhearts wife! That's what I call 'the art of fine driving'!

Maintenance is comparable with most C segment cars. Like bro lowpro said, 60K service has been adjusted, nothing to fear now. 308t owners are quoting $1.6K for the 60K major service! I will suggest to Nasim to get gearbox fluids direct from Aisin, this will definitely drop major service cost. Would like to hear from bro's their input on this. Is there a better way to approach this, please give me your suggestions.

The engine aside, I must say the 407 gave me a much better drive experience. Its road handling is second to none. I suppose it has got to do with the use of double wishbone suspension, I could literally feel the road grip when I drive. But of course, the Prince engine compensated the inferior road handling of the 408. So I'm still enjoying my ride, but in different ways. Well, we can't always win, can we? Lol.

Added on November 15, 2012, 6:40 pmThere's another problem I would like to share. When I was driving up a multi level carpark, where the road leading upwards spirals to the left, I felt my steering wheel shake after the 3rd level. Its only when I ceased accelerating it stopped vibrating, then when I accelerate again it went away. It was the 3rd time I had experienced it.

Any sifu here with a clue what happened?

Added on November 15, 2012, 6:43 pm

I got mine at 2.4% from Affin.
*
Tks for your feedback. Yes we can't always win. Glad you are enjoying the 408t,it's awesome! Check your steering fluid level,it may be low.

I've just went through a minor accident and there're quite a number of scratch on right side of bumper and there's one scratch line on body from the petrol inlet cover to the rear light.

My question, should I report to Peugeot or go to outside bodywork shop? Will it void any type of warranty?

sad.gif
*
Ouccch.....that must hurt! Not necessary to report to Peugeot, warranty will not void.Ofcourse for your own concision, you may email Peugeot to see what they say!

the 'm' engine is improved over the earlier engines in many ways and an engine is not designed by one same person. they may belong to the ep6 family but the engine has been steadily improved in time. anyway, no point explaining so much since you are not willing to learn. it is just splashing water on a waxed leaf.

Sad fact that a lot of people find excuses to bash pugs simply because it's a french marque. Same engine used in mini cooper, and everyone sing praises simply because it's built by BMW ie germans
*
This is a fact,Mini's have had a whole host of problems like timing chain and chain guide selves and more! Audi's and VW had sever premature carbon buildup that engines had to be decoked at 25Kkm.

EP6CDTM has evolved over the years. 8 mods were carried out addressing reliability issues. But ignorance will still bash Pugs!

The deal now is fantastic, go test drive. If you not hooked............I say no more!
