I beg to differ on the comfy part. Are you sure 408T is a comfortable car?

Hard suspension. Low profile tires. These contribute to a harsh ride. I am driving a 308VTi, and it has a softer suspension compared to 308T. Yet I am already feeling the car crashes  and bangs through potholes. On wavy highway, the car actually hops up and down. On rough road surface, the car actually vibrates.

If you are that dissatisfied with your car you know what to do!

With the 408T priced at 125,888, i would top up 18K and go for the Optima. But that's just me i guess.
*
Waaaah you real kimchi lover la....hehehe! Inspite of proving to you the 408t is far superior, you still willing to pay 18k more. However I must agree, the Optima is a pretty face that kept me pondering for many nights. I too fell for it.....hehehe! Ofcourse no matter what others say, final choice is yours! Did you get one?

The bottom line is,are you satisfied with your car? If not, do the inevitable! I think it is silly to keep and complain and complain!

If one is sick, what do you do? Find a remedy, find a fix! Why should it be any different. I absolutely have no respect for people who complain and want others to admit they are right!

P.s.  To be fair, most people complain to crowd-source for a solution, not just for the sake of it.
*
I think these are sympathy seekers. They really don't want a solution, instead want everyone to acknowledge their problem! Give them a solution, they'll turn it down flat. They love to dwell in frustration and make others feel so!

I was just about to post the same thing. If everybody join a forum just to praise the car they've bought, all problem will be swept under the rug and no benefit will be gained other than the notion that the said car is perfect.

I am happy with the choice I've made but I join this forum to comment and see feedback, be it positive or negative, from others who've made the same choice as mine. And others who're considering may drop by here to do their own research, so it would be fair for them to have all the info and make the right decision for themselves.
*
I am sure no one here bought the 408 thinking it's perfect. That's the same with the general public.

You have brought up the issue of jerky gears on several occasions. I have mentioned bouncy ride. We are certainly not saying our car is perfect, but why did we bring up these issue? To find a fix,to see if someone has a solution. The point is we are not going to drum this into a happy owner who is enjoying his new ride!

Oh man... you are harsher than a Mini's ride. Tell you what, unless the name of this thread is "408 fans club", or else I will say both the good, and bad of the car.
And you think Jessie will appreciate this statement!

Ya I take the LEKAS whenever my personal speed limiter(wife) is absent. Just that it takes an additional 20 mins to get to the hwy. I think these hwys are spared due to the low traffic volume. No way to recover cost! I wonder how long?

I cant seem to understand why people still keep posting this list. This list has been circulating in emails for the past 10 years i think. Its totally crap. These are just possible locations where the police might wait with a speed gun and everybody knows to watch out for the underpasses.

So can we please stop posting this list? Its really tiring to see this same email being circulated before every festive season every damn year.
*
There's a lot of us who have no knowledge of this list. If you think it's crap, give us the latest. Put up or shut up!

You want to see improvements in a product, there are proper channels to lodge a complaint. Not come here and get on every body's butt about it. By this action, your message has not reached the proper place except a pain on ppl butt!

1st of all, must own the car to make the complaint. Not a owner but just want to   make noise cos frustrated! What twisted logic is that everyone here must get on that sick boat too!

No I disagree. You can complain proper channels and you should also complain on forums. If they are smart, they will monitor the major motoring forums in Malaysia in regards to feedback. It's customer's service job to figure out what people dislike about their cars aside from just going through the proper channels, why do you think they have focus groups as well asking about what people like or dislike about their latest product launches? Not everyone will express what they feel face to face, but online anonymity can at least guarantee what owners have to say about their car both with and without bias.

guys, i'd like to suggest a time out on this matter. there are definitely going to be differences in opinion regarding complaints and i hope we can just accept that others will have differing ideals. i guess if we disagree with something, maybe just let it go and don't respond to the post. the forum is an open place for different opinions anyway. debating it is good but let's do it with civility. i am all for proper channels but my opinion is that if it has to be done online, lets do it properly. just my 2 cents worth and apologies if my earlier post caused this issue.

Front and rear axels, including brake systems, on the 408t are heavier built in order to provide sufficient stoping power for the THP.

Yup, been using Shell95 on all my cars. For some reason, the engine feels rougher with petronas, but mileage improved. I dont know whether its just my imagination on the rougher idle. But for now I think I'll stick to petronas. My first tank of fuel is actually esso also. It lasted 600km. Not sure if it'd improve if I use esso again.
*
Have been on Esso all this while but am about to switch over to Pertonas. Purely for convenience as Petronas is nearest to my house. Glad to note you are happy with Pertonas for your THP. Never really bothered about FC,quite satisfied with the THP

Lately i accompany my fren test try some cars like VW's polo sedan, jetta, passat, Peugeot's 408T and Hyundai's Elantra.

My findings so far (for C segment cat): -

Jetta - nice car with TSI engine, not much fancy gadgets while focus more on build quality, expensive.
Elantra - more gadgets, big, futuristic body design, good price range but not so good in terms of ride and sound proofing.
408T - nice handling, amazed by its turbo engine + sport mode, spacious, up to date technology, competitive price. personally i think it's better if the rear part of the car could be more 'aggresive look'.

apparently, both of us fall in love with 408T  drool.gif

We din try honda & toyota, perhaps feel bored with those japs car already  biggrin.gif
*
For $126k 408t is the best buy. For the money,it's brings a lot to the table. The engine delivers pretty decent power and the car has high handling standards. The only competitor in this price is the Citroen C4,which  is the sold at the same price. This hatch back is a little smaller but very pretty! Has the same Prince THP engine (155hp) but mated with DGS gearbox. Quite an advanced gearbox, but has some problems, and I am not sure local SC can handle the issues.

Booklyn M has to step up it's game if it wants to make a mark with Citroen in Malaysia. Customer support and properly trained service staff are so important for the survival of this make. In the past attempts have been rather feeble. I'd like to see this make become a serious player in Malaysia. DS5 is a sweet babe, certainly my choice in the D segment. Love the 2 litre turbo diesel!

Like you many have commented on the rather bare rear end of the 408. If you look at the new generation of Peugeot cars, that's the way they all are. The reason is,a simple back makes the Lion emblem a lot more prominent!

There's roughly 30 of us here in this thread who are actual owners. We have discussed all the problems encountered. It is not be hearsay from any Tom,d*** or Harry who think they know more than us! You will see there's really nothing serious. Go for this Lion, you'll not regret!

This is good news. Not that NASA is a great Co,but the fact that Peugeot is taking control. After all Citreon is under the PSA flagship! Citroen certainly stands a better chance of survival. I certainly look forward to this.

Any recommended SC to go to for my first servicing? Current mileage is already 7.7k. Planning to call for appointment for first servicing when mileage reached 8.5k. Below are list of complain I'm preparing :

1.  Rattling on left door
2.  Weird sound on hydraulic power steering (not always) when turning right
3.  Slight drop on rear bumper (left side)
4.  Not so smooth gear shift on lower speed (after resetting the gearbox, it seems to have gone but still noticeable during traffic jam)

That's all I have for now. Planning to go to Glenmarie but based on the high volume of Pug they're receiving everyday, I'm in doubt whether they can solve all the problem quickly.
*
Number of Pugs in Malaysia has increased. Any Peugeot SC in Klang valley will see high volume. I would still try Glenmarie or Balakong.I personally visited Glenmarie, not for service, and am very pleased by front desk attention. I can say from what I observed P Blue Box is making an effort to improve customer service. If not mistaken Balakong is the nerve Center,IMO. Do update us,tks!

Yes both Balakong and Glenmarie need booking well in advance. More importantly I'm keen to know if they are able to fix the problems. Only then the 5 year warranty is worth for what is! Lets keep communicating on this aspect.
