I've test driven the Hyundai Elantra 1.6 at Jalan 222, feels sluggish. IMPO. After that I went to Bangsar to try out the 408T 1.6, the turbo makes it really different and the interior space, it's like going into Harry Potter's friend Weasley's tent.
I test drove the high spec 1.8L model with the 'NU' engine. To be fair, it was good. However it is no match for 408t in power, handling and cabin space. 408t instrument cluster is very classy, where else the Elantra's felt toyish. 408t is really a great deal now,no second thought! Go for it before the discount offer ends!

Battery weak as they say. Peugeot car having many fancy electronic inside and even the fan still running after we off the engine. That will consume battery too.
Normal price RM455 but under warranty so free la. you guys better ask the service advisor too about your battery status during servicing. My hubby told me there is a 2 week owner of 508, come for 1st 2500km inspection also advised to change battery.
*
Tks for your feedback. Will check on my battery status as I am due for my 1st service next month. Btw how is your city and urban FC,after service. I think the category for you should be spirited or non fiery......hehehe! thumbup.gif Cheers!

seems that 408T is a very good deal...
i've tested the 508T premium...
1 word i can describe is "WOW"...
it's very comfortable and spacious...
actualli i'm more to 508T but too pricey...
see if i can't get ani 2nd hand car by dis year...
most probably i'll get a 408T...
*
Both 408 and 508 are new entries in the Malaysian market. I doubt you'll see any 2nd hand for sometime, definitely not this year or next. I might switch to the 508 turbo diesel in 3 years.

Should try. It may not the fastest car to reach the top but its still enjoying passing thru other car with smoke.
*
You'll certainly enjoy 408t's handling/power combination on this route. Last week I took the old windy Seremban PD road. What a joy it was to push the car around the bends and feel the stability and handling. It stuck to the road like a lizard on a vertical wall. The steering is so precise with perfect feedback! I forgot I was driving a sedan until I got out!

the key differences are not just the horsepower. it is what's inside the engine that matters and how the ecu is mapped to take in poor fuel quality and not foul up. internal components are beefed up as well to cope with higher stress.
*
Yes it's not just the HP, EP6CDTM has been given a serious make over. Many parts have been beefed up. My interest is especially on the piston redesign, among others.

Air and fuel are injected directly into the cylinders independently, as apposed to a air/fuel mixture in fuel injected engines. This direct injection of fuel causes 'wall wetting' which contributes to premature carbon buildup. The redesigned piston helps reduce this phenomena to achieve better combustion. A combination of these methods - wall-guided, air-guided and spray-guided are used.

No issues at all up till now. However it is still early to gauge succes, am watching with a very keen concern!

the 2.0 vs turbo in sales is very close to half each with the turbo edging slightly ahead. that proves that the 2.0 represents pretty good value as well not only in comparison to its direct competitors but also the turbo.
*
Any idea total number of each, sold thus far?

Within KL and PJ, which is the better SC?
*
I am told there is no difference at any of the branches nation wide. That should be the case as the SCs are set up as Peugeot Blue Box. If a branch is unable to handle a particular issue on a car, then the team of floating experts is called in.

I have tried PJ and will now try Seremban branch for my 10K servive. Having said this,I understand many have been very satisfied at Balakong SC!

anione cruising this car at 180km/h to 200km/h for a long time?
like from melaka going to JB...
just wana make sure whether the turbo can handle for this long period?
*
You don't need to worry, this engine is well built to handle those speeds for long spells. However our roads are not safe for those speeds, there's too much traffic. Road conditions are poor that you'll bouncing like a race horse! I did get up to 180km/h on LEKAS hwy for almost the entire stretch, no problems at all. My engine is still ticking away like a Swiss watch!

I wouldn't trust NASA for a dime. Get in writing, you'll have legal recourse if needed.

508 buyers were promised Malaysian maps for GPS at a later date by SAs,but till today no sign of it. Finally Nasim issued a letter stating no Malaysian maps for 508 GPS. What a load of crap! A large group of owners have teamed up for legal action.

I wish them best of luck!

QUOTE(Termibait @ Dec 13 2012, 01:26 AM)
Reporting my mileage consumption. I m overwhelm with the result. Maybe someone here can help me do calculation.

Pumped full tank at kesas. Drove to jb.ard 420km. Left half tank shown on the meter cluster. Refill to full tank at rm50.01 before leaving for SG. Spent 2 nights with There. Went to Johor and spent another night. Leave for kl with roughly 40% of petrol. Reach Ayer Hitam and fill up rn25. Now back to ard 2/3 tank. Total spent on petrol now is rm75.01. All the way back to klang. Refill at rm84.05. Total km for the whole journey was 1030km.

What I did was rm50.01+ rm25 + rm84.05 = 159.06/2. I get average full tank price for this trip. @ rm80(for easy calculation).

I use rm80/1000km(again for easy calculation) = rm0.08/km. wow, I didn't know my 408t is so fuel efficient. I haven't done my first service yet.

Today only went to geoauto behind naza Jalan 222 for service.

Seriously, I have a bad experience with the front counter name Rajan. Another lady driving 308t also facing the same problem. The guy didn't even know what she meant by jerking.its layman and I expect him to understand that.

Immediately I made a complain to their careline and complain about him in front of him. Well, if u ask me! He asked for it. Quote : " if you want, you can call our careline and make complain" ok. I ask for the number from his colleague and call immediately in front of him.

Added on December 13, 2012, 1:33 amBy the way, I saw a 408t hospitalized at their workshop. They dismantle battery, white color plastic thingy next to it (quite a big one and I think it's not a gearbox) checks out internal and found the center radio unit fully dismantle and taken out. The guy also doing something at far left dashboard(the space where your passenger door touches when door is shut.

A bit worry, asked the technician but he doesn't seem like to entertain me. Haih....so, took a photo with my s3. But lazy to post here bcos using iPad.
*
You did the right thing to complain. This is service industry and there's nothing worst than bad service.

As for the 408t patient, from your comment my guess it's an electrical problem. Hopefully it's not major surgery!

True, I've been reading alot about the DS5 and am shocked with the poor suspension system for such a good looking car. Can't understand why PSA designers took this approach. As a matter of fact most of the newly designeds Peugeot too appear be harsh with ride.

I'm quite surprised by the comment. 301 is a lot smaller than the 408. Looks like a baby 508,thought it's a good 207 sedan replacement!

Btw, future Pugs will end with the number 1 or 8. 1 indicates budget model while 8 indicates luxury! Hence 301 steering looks plain.

I think it will be quite a roomy interior. But from reviews it appears NAZA may not bring this model to Malaysia!

508 steering wheel has audio and Bluetooth control options. 301 steering is plain. XX1 being budget XX8 being luxury, is seen here already! I'm sure there'll be a number of differences. This is PSAs new numbering strategy.

I don't see why they will replace the 207 with the 301, the 301 has the same wheelbase size as a 408 which means it's in the same C-segment market. It's more logical to replace the 207 with the 208.

Not saying that they can't, but that means they are using a more expensive offering to compete in a very competitive budget segment even though the 301 is considered a budget sedan.
*
Oh if it's a C segment car,I can understand it not coming to Malaysia. PSA has invested heavily at Gurn plant on 408 production.

The pics posted for the 301 steering wheel is really ugly and bulky, IMO, cannot make it. The outlook of the car is fine though.
IMO the interior looks way better than most VW models which I consider dated!

It is smaller in dimension than the 408, but does fall in the C segment. 408 is probably the largest in this segment.

This is an NA, depreciation here is 10K. This is fair price if anyone wants to sell his car the 1st year.In this particular case I think it's a repossessed car.Lots of youngsters live beyond their means these days. They often fall prey to easy finance. After a couple of months when things don't tieup, reality hits them.

Finance Co. only wants to recover it's investment. You could probably knock another 1K off the price. All depends how much of the loan the owner has paid. I'd be very keen on this car if I was in the market for a car!
