Uncle Benny, i'm now in pre-rooted GB rom. Is it necessary for me to install CWM?

You decide yourself whether you need it
CWM for rom backup n restore. To flash kernel, modem n rom. To wipe data n caches etc etc

Some update from Cassie on his ICS rom development

The ICS rom is built however i will be waiting for a revised Kernel.

Having seen what i believe is irresponsible scaremongering on other threads i will put my point accross quietly here.

When building and testing the ics rom, i flashed chainfires kernel twice, firstly to replace Francos kernel and secondly to install the actual rom. During any testing i flash the rom from a vareity of situations to ensure that a)the rom works and B) its safe.

I flashed the rom and kernel at least 9 different times as i had issues with the package. I did suffer from a problem of restoring my nandroid backup with the CWM lockup freesing at restoring syste,.

This was the same issue i had when building the last GB rom and switched to Francos. While restoring i had to pull battery on first nandroid and then start the restore process again and it works perfectly. I or maybe just my phone seems to have an issue with CF cwm. However as i mentioned i must of done at least 9 restores and also installed cyanogen over the top at one point due to another issue i faced with my sim card.

At no point has my device suffered any issues. However i have also never successful flashed the @ropey@ ics leak which could well be a contributing factor.

As far as i can tell only Chas has had an issue which is a shame, but thats one phone and well Chas is the flashing king here on xda.

whenever anyone flashes anything custom there is an element of risk, and if something goes wrong well unfortunately we learn.

I will release this rom as and when i think (following advice from far more superior beings) its safe to do so. And i will continue to flash test the rom from a variety of scenarios so that if anything goes wrong it does so to me first.

So bare with us and as the cost is clear let Cassies rom rock again

XTREME GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR GALAXY NOTE REVIEWED

NUTSHELL
CONCLUSION

Xtreme Glass Screen Protector = RM 90. SGP GlasT RM140. Owns SGP Ultra Crystal and Ultra Oleo.
No impact on functionality.
Scratch Resistant, not scratch proof.
Love the feel of the screen.
Wish it was cheaper since malaysian product.
Not too easy to remove.
Works with most cases.
Would recommend product? Yes. If you read entire review and can look past above cons.

You flash the prerooted rom but fail to get root?
Is app SU there? Launch it n update bi nary files. If OK reset phone n test root using titanium backup n root explorer. Download mobile odin pro n verify it can run
If no SU download superuser from market n do similar tests

Yes I will be in hall 1 attending mobilefest meetup

i just tried with my Whatapps and Messages, no such problem. I think it is caused by your keyboard, not the ROM. I am using the default Samsung keyboard - when i am typing message, the upper part will be full white with text, the lower part is the keyboard, can't see anything else.
