uncle benny i have a few questions if you dont mind. I am on ICS german non rooted firmware.

I was from GB non rooted.

I tried flashing it with pre rooted as per your site using PC Odin. and followed all the instructions, everything was ok , just that the keyboard character is null. I tried going into recovery several times, clear the setting and cache. the results is the same.

How can i root my current firmware now please and i can't install mobile odin pro as its not rooted.

ypur guidance is much needed.

btw, u be at hall 1 gomobile ? i am with the appcity msc ICON2

You flash the prerooted rom but fail to get root?
Is app SU there? Launch it n update bi nary files. If OK reset phone n test root using titanium backup n root explorer. Download mobile odin pro n verify it can run
If no SU download superuser from market n do similar tests

Yes I will be in hall 1 attending mobilefest meetup

the SU is there. the problem is the keyboard is NULL .

finally, installed the PreRooted German ICS. Here is how it went:- (Mine was non rooted ICS Official German)

1. Read throughly over Benny's site.
2. Shut Down the Pohne. Boot to stock recovery mode and select wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
3. Restart from Recovery (Took longer then expected)
4. Boot into Download Mode
5. Launch PC Odin, follow the steps as descvribe by Uncle Benny.
6. Voila ! , installation was smooth.
7. Booting Up got stuck quaterly (exactly as per Uncle's benny descrption (http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/05/11/flashing-pre-rooted-ics-official-rom-german-build-on-galaxy-note-n7000/)
8. Follow the method, pull the battery and restart the phone.
9. Installation continues, it the bar moves to the end.
10. Samsung logo appears (a way bit longer then usual), then installation apps begins
11. Tested the keyboard (previously stuck at keyboard character NULL). Perfect !
12. Test SU and Root Check. ROOTED !

All i can say is just follow uncle's benny's method and most importanly DONT PaNIC ! some processes does takes longer, way longer.

Got a question on cwm. I have flash pre rooted firmware ics German . Now left with flashing the kernels. I am new to mobile Odin . I have unzip the official ics kernel to zimage.
Now in order to flash cwm. I have to click n kernel and point to the zimage location. Is that the nay file required ? Or I need to point the pre rooted firmware at open file ? What else is needed ?

Thanks in advance

Flashing cwm successfully means you can boot into cwm recovery. Do not confuse with no CWM app showing. Sometimes depend on your previous rom it will not show up.always manually boot into recovery to confirm cwm is successfully installed
All these I have repeated also many times since version 1
