Yeah just give them a call, this show that you are proactive in following up with your application status.

The best way is to call rather than emailing them.

Apart from what fluffy mentioned, you can also say, "Hi, just wondering if there's any updates regarding the interview."

lol fluffy, when you provided the conversation lines, I thought "wow" and then I read the sarcasm at the bottom laugh.gif

LOL...yea it's always better to call and ask...WHY?
1) you get to know the answer / result on the spot. flex.gif
2) from the phone conversation, you would be able to roughly know what kind of person are working there (nice / impolite?)
3) if you were to email, you might need to wait in anxiety. what if your mail did not reach them and ended up in the junk mail? shakehead.gif

Hey guys, I would appreciate if you can suggest me what to wear for an "interview" which consists of other potential candidates for the job going for a rough brief on what the company does, as well as ongoing assessment and evaluation done by the company.

The company's workplace is at http://hideout.posterous.com/ and from the looks of it they look pretty casual. Like jeans, tank tops, flip-flops and t-shirt.

What do you guys recommend for me to wear, since the company's dresswear looks rather casual? Would it be too ridiculous to wear slacks and a formal shirt?

Thanks for your advice smile.gif

Their workplace does look quite informal, definitely not the average Malaysian office. But you see a mix of people in t shirts, polos and formal shirts, so the dress code isn't that obvious.

I'd probably still go in with a shirt and slacks or at the most a polo and dark jeans (nothing excessively casual though). Definitely not easy to pull off the right balance between formal and casual dress code.

To be really sure, here's what I'd do:
1) Call them for some other information and just slip in a question about the dress-code for the interview
2) Try to contact someone working there and find out about the dress code. Maybe go and visit the office an evening and try to talk to the people leaving the office or something.

Good luck !

If you ask me, I'd say it depends on the job. If it's a designer/ fashion related work, I think you can flaunt your clothes to show your individuality.

On the other hand, even if you see photos of the staffs wearing t-shirt in a casual environment, you might not want to be too casual for interview. I suggest going with smart casual if you do not want to look too rigid (too formal) yet nothing that crosses the casual wear.

Actually, if you want sample answer, try googling some general samples might appear and you could use them as a template and improvise on it...

But since you already have sample questions in your mind...i would suggest you to take some time off to think of your own answer rather than remembering it..in that way it would sound more natural and also reflects your own personality as well

It's really depend on the company. Some company called me after 2 hours I sent my resume and some takes up to a month.
