QUOTE(nkarul85 @ Nov 26 2010, 10:18 PM) hi there, need advice here recently just done 1 interview, i think i make mistake that time i wanted to call them asking bout result just to show them im really want that jobs so my question, can i do this way?? thanks What mistake, may i ask? You may call to ask the status, but how long ago was that? Normally it will take 3 days to a week or longer to know the result because the HR will interview other candidates.

QUOTE(jayxunned @ May 8 2011, 03:37 AM) just out of curiosity, is it ok to ask WHY if the company says that the role doesn't fit you without giving any reason? Why not? In an interview, both parties can ask questions.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ May 13 2011, 05:19 PM) The best way is to call rather than emailing them. Apart from what fluffy mentioned, you can also say, "Hi, just wondering if there's any updates regarding the interview." lol fluffy, when you provided the conversation lines, I thought "wow" and then I read the sarcasm at the bottom i wonder what is so difficult to call and ask... and how wrong can u get with good manners. QUOTE(mkaz @ Jul 4 2011, 03:25 PM) its not really a competitor .. diff. industry .. idk i just want to wear for no reason .. Depends on ur type of job. If u r a guy I expect u to be presentable at least with clean attire and if necessary formal office wear, with or without neck tie. Unless u r in creative industry, grooming is important. No jeans crocs or whatsoever flip flop /slippers. Y previous company shirt if there is no reason to do so?

QUOTE(august.decision @ Jul 7 2011, 03:16 PM) so no playslip is given.....how to show to the new company.....haiz.... can give EA statement? or BE form? salary can be calculated by divide the annual income to 12 months....that will be including the bonus and etc....this method acceptable? Y u want to do things the complicated way? Open ur mouth n ask from ur hr. U said they stopped giving for past 6mth. means previously there were payslips befote. Else, there are ready made payslip forms in stationary shop that ur boss can fill in with pen, sign n stamp.

QUOTE(debbieyss @ Jul 7 2011, 06:12 PM) Even this is a simple way, providing P&C info such as pay slip is not wise. She just wanted the payslip. P&c or not that depends on the individual. If dun wan give then y bother.

QUOTE(Irzani @ Nov 9 2011, 12:53 AM) I was adviced by my classmates (Petronas interviewer) today that khakis pants should not be used during interview? I wonder why? For years I thought Khakis and slack is similar thing ... For me, if the candidate is clean and presentable, there is no reason why khakis is not allowed. For engineering firm, khakis are generally accepted.

QUOTE(TzeThon @ Jul 6 2012, 05:02 PM) yes i agree that the first question is always "tell me about yourself". and i really don't know how to answer that even after so many interviews If u can't even talk about someone as close to u as yourself, u r really a failure Moreover, this is not even to "sell" urself to the potential employer yet and u have fail so badly. U hv a lot of skeleton in the closet ?

Seriously, the "tell me about urself" is not something interviewe really wants to know. it is to make u start talking, break the ice.
whatever interviewer wants to know about urself is already in the application form.

QUOTE(bearboss_85 @ Jul 9 2012, 07:10 AM) I've got an interview coming~ It's my first interview after 3 years of working.. The company HR gave me one form which is in "word" file. I'm kind of wonder whether I should fill in the form by hand or by typing onto it. I'm quite in dilemma because the job required someone that is "computer literate". But there were saying that if you type on the form, it may show you that you are a lazy person~~ Please comment~ TQ~ Typing using computer is lazy?
