ya, I know. IF. I can't really comment much on this since I can't predict the future. But S3 is indeed a nice phone by judging on its specs. Both phones has its own pros and cons so its up to the user which to decide. you like s3 then go for it, hox then hox. Anyway, let's just stop this okay?

A more important thing is its ergonomics, will be really nice to hold in the phone

if you're asking what happened to sgs 2. basicly the G version is a 'downgrade' from non G because it use a less powerful SoC

I hope it feels nice to the hand and doesn't slip off easily without a case.
My S2 always slip off from my hand with or without a case.

For s2, initial version came out was I9100, without the G, now referred to as "non-g" version. This had Samsung's chip(cpu + gpu + other stuff) inside it. Had real good performance, and was the version at launch, hence many ppl picked it up, and developed for it.

Then samsung released a I9100G, a variant if you like. Came with a different chip (not produced by samsung) Some speculate it was due to shortage of the Samsumg chip mentioned above. Others say ot was to address "overheating issues" etc.

Implications:
1. Since most developers bought during the G version release (and since internationally this is sort of the primary version), more developement was going on for it. Hence more custom ROMs etc.
2. The G version has a different chip, which has been seen to have lower performance, especially in the GPU department.
3. Many ppl reported hangs and camera issues/sd card issues initially when g version was launched. Sort of like more problems. Most of our forumers will tell you it's better these days, or can be solved with custom stuff.


Will it affect s3? Who knows. Time will tell. Unless they have shortage of chips, or unless the new chip proves to be unstable (which seems like bollocks, would have gone through alot of testing before being put into production phone), this shouldn't be the case. Then again, no one expected the variant for s2

The bashing is unavoidable, due to special affection towards certain brand by some ppl.

For me, my first android phone was desire hd, and during that time dhd was like top dog of android, thus HTC means= superior quality plus awesome UI. Sgs came out too, but specwise and UI experience kinda sucks so kinda have bad impression bout Samsung.

Then comes the next flagship from both company. Sensation was a great disappointment due to tons of issues, especially the unresponsive touch screen issues. I think s2 was a great response and comeback as its design and screen really WOWED me. I even introduced 4 of my friends getting s2.

Now comes the third round. I think HTC really put a lot of effort in designing one x, really fall in love with one x, and HTC regains my trust again. For me personally, due to the superiority of s2, was expecting far more greatness, but came out with this spec and design. Didn't say it was bad, but feel like Samsung could do much better than this.

Anyway, let's us just wait the real phone came out and do direct comparison whether which one s the king of android of 2012.

There's no single thing in this world can satisfy everyone. If you're happy with it, enjoy. If don't, then don buy. Nobody's pointing a gun to force u.

another note here to those HOX/SGS 3 fanboys or bashers alike


just be grateful and happy of what you have. SGS 3 may be more powerful and offer more feature compared to HOX, but it doesn't make HOX look like a 3310 right? HOX is still second in line to SGS 3 in the android flagship lineup.

as long it can last your usage for another year or so i dun see the point of " jealousy " here. trying to bring down other brands. if you're " jealous " because of the removable batt or expandable memory, and feel that you can't live without it, just sell your HOX and get a SGS 3 la. no need to bash and bring down the phone here.

as for me, since the batt and memory is still within and my usage, there's no need for me to change yet


and to samsung fanboys, there's no need to specifically trying to diss HOX as well. yes many times is HOX users who started the war 1st, but i've seen post by users who started it all by aiming at HOX 1st.

Comparisons are unavoidable. People intending to buy the s3 would obviously want to know how this phone stacks up against other flagships.

And comparisons lead to other comparisons etc. But yeah, while healthy comparison is fine, bashing and all needs to stop
