The chip is better than the one used in SII. Beats is just software if I'm not wrong.

Galaxy S - Wolfson
Galaxy SII - Yamaha

Yeah, the difference is that SIII houses Samsung's "hyperglaze". I'll post a source here just in case

Material is the same according to that page. Maybe we'll have to get a real hands on to know the difference

As consumers, we keep hoping for premium materials like glass, aluminium, stainless steel.. But the global manufacturers shld know more right? Plastic is lightweight and won't get heated up easily. Besides, take a look at ip, although it seems to be built with higher quality materials, in fact it's not quite

Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is much slimmer, allow brighter images and increased touch sensitivity. Not to mention the durability and strength to withstand scratches/shock to prevent breaking when the device falls. You'll need to check out some videos on it There're much more + things which Samsung doesn't state during the live event
