Hey guys,

Why is my download and upload speeds so inconsistent? Yesterday I got around 0.80+ for donwload and 0.20+ for upload. Today (look at my siggy)

On the left is my 512kb last time. On the right is my today's 1mbps

Isit because of my wifi or streamyx problem?

This is my 1st test after upgrade to 1M package


this is 2nd test ... so is this the speed ok for 1M package ??


why at TM speedometer side test is lower ?? try many times only get 500kb+- download and 300kb+- upload ??
which one is more correct ?

Most probably yes if u r being capped at 1024kbps download speed.

then why i test at TM speedometer side only DOWNLOAD SPEED 500kb/s +- and UPLOAD SPEED 300kb/s +- ??? try many times

dudes and dudets... if u think your internet's slow.. i suggest u download a program called internet cyclone.. just google it and u can go to d website and download for free

can it work with Windows Vista?

streamyx wrongly capped my speed, im on 1mb package but my speed is 512kbps.. last time they capped my line @2mb,i started to notice my downstream rate change early this morning from 2mbps to 512kbps.. this happen after my dad complain to tmnut about slow speed while surfing,playing games n so on =(

Hey guys , i have a noob question . Let say now i have combo streamyx package , I have pass the contract subscription period . Now i want to terminate the Streamyx service . After few month later , i want to reapply back the same package using same phone account line , will they charge me activation fee again? Thanks

Well tat depends on whether the activation fee waived promotion is still goin on or nt the time when u re-register.

Thanks for your kindly reply .i've been with the contract for over 2years. still yet nothing i get. so should i request for free wifi modem without changing plan or re-register my account, can i still get a wifi modem for free? Right now i using RM60 combo package . According to Streamyx , Waived activation fee of RM75 and Installation fee of RM88 until 31st December 2009. What i plan right now is , i go terminate my current account , and later go reapply for same package using same phone line(before 31st december 2009) . So can i get free wireless modem + Waived activation fee of RM75 and Installation fee of RM88 if i reapply ? And also , I see some forumer mention that if sign contract for 3 year, then each month fee would be reduce to RM55 instead of original RM60. Anyway using the wireless modem by TM ? this modem can support 1 computer only in 1 time?? as my house have desktop and laptop

Terminate and re-apply for another new Streamyx account will take at least one month due to 1 month 'cooling period'. Therefore I recommend u to go TM point and request for upgrading to COMBO wifi@home package and u will get a new wifi modem (1 LAN port and wireless access point).

may i know the 1mb package actual speed we can get is how much. And the best effort

i just upgraded to 1mpbs using the new super package promotion , this is the speed

I heard other ppl with 1mpbs can go up tp 1.5-1.7mbps , i call streamyx and they are sending over a technician to my house ..... wat can they do ?

When the technician come ask him to capped you at 1.5mbps or 2.0 mbps in order to enjoy full 1mbps

i am getting 1.2mbps...last time was 1.7mb...but after the penang don't know what interruption it drops to 1.2mbps...
any clue how to get back to 1.7??

That means its like a norm for those know about this capping thing to call technicians to cap their line ?

Then those who doesnt understand this just couldnt utilise the full bandwidth ?

i m staying in kepong area ...last few days ago, there tm net ppl drop by our housing area n change the cable to fiber optic cable. Hope it really works on the speed once i upgrade my packages.

i want to upgrade my 1Mbps to 4Mbps ...is it necessary?

my result almost same as u.. but some time less then 800mbps.. so i complain fews time.. technician come my house..i ask him to capped at 1.5mbps cos i not happy for the result 1m pakage.finally he capped my 1m pakage to 1.5m.. here the result i get for rm88 (1m pakage)

i want to ask about something ... im using streamyx 2 Mbps package in my apartment ... its routed to 5 laptop (including me) ...

what i want to ask is, why i got so high ping ? the speed its ok because its routed ... but the ping i think is to high ...
