Jailbreak is available but tethered I think. Similar to 5.1 jailbreak.

Actually, the dev team recommends you to use 0.9.10b8 for jailbreaking. 0.9.10b11 should only be used for downgrading 4S or A5 chip from 5.1 to 5.0.1

If you have successfully installed the iPad baseband, then the next step is to unlock it using ultrasn0w. You need to install ultrasn0w via Cydia. I cannot remember the repo name but you should be able to google for it.

I will jailbreak on 5.1.1 if pod2g releases the jailbreak 10 days from now (expected 21-25 May)

Pod2g hinted about a major jailbreak news during the security conference in Amsterdam which runs from the 21-25 of May or something like that.

first of all, you need to be more specific with your problem

1. Where did you get the iPhone? Is it a locked set or a factory unlocked version (you bought it from maxis/digi/Celcom etc etc)

2. When did this happen? After you install an app or the first time you connect to iTunes. Showing us a screen cap without telling us what happened is very counter productive.

It's an Australian set. How do you know that it is factory unlocked? Yes they do sell Australian sets as factory unlocked but they also sell factory unlocked sets in the USA as well. I would think that if your friend bought it from an Australian carrier, it will be locked to that carrier.

Try putting the iPhone in DFU mode an do a fresh restore to 5.1.1. This of course is not jailbreakable at the moment.

Pod2g did not release redsn0w, the owner of redsn0w is the Dev-Team (Musclenerd etc etc), pod2g belongs to the Chronic Dev Team.

That should not happen. When you install whatsapp for free during one of the deals, that "purchase" is recorded in iTunes and anytime you restore your iPhone, you can always download it again from iTunes even though Whatsapp at the time is a paid apps. I got it for free too and have never had to pay for it after every restore. This is one of the reason why I download stuff (even though I don't use or need them) because, anytime I want to use it or restore the apps, I don't have to pay for the apps again.

Google Apps Gone Free and visit it everyday and you'll be happy.

Absinthe 2.0 should be coming out soon. Time to backup the 2 iPhones and the iPad 2

Pod2g has tweeted that it is now safe to upgrade to 5.1.1 (if you set is factory unlocked of course and you do not need the unlock). So the jailbreak is close.

I will update the 1st post once Chronic Dev Team releases the jailbreak. They will present the paper today but as mentioned by frozzbyte, not sure if the jailbreak will be released today as well.

My iPhone 4s is undergoing restore. Everything looks okay. Aptbackup is unstable, so cannot backup at the moment my latest tweaks but that's not too much of a problem.

Opps, done restoring

Most likely Cydia is slammed by al the people who have just jailbroke their iDevices.

The jailbreak on a fresh 4s was quite fast, less than 2 minutes. Now restoring my backup which is taking time since I have 229 apps.

Cydia is working intermittently. You must make sure that it reloads everything before you install any tweaks. This can take from 5-10 minutes and if you have a lot of repos than it can take longer than that. I have managed to install SBSettings. I have not tried Aptbackup method yet because the last time I tried that, all my apps goes missing so I think I'll skip that method.

Just for the heck of it I am restoring my tweaks via APTBackup. It is still restoring (may take 5-10 minutes) and probably won't work because a lot of the repo is down because they are being slammed at the moment (what with the iPad 3 also being jailbroken for the first time).

I'll report back on the results.

Note: I would recommend doing a fresh restore to 5.1.1 if you want to run absinthe. I have had no issues when doing this for all my iDevices.

As long as you have the Music files and the video files in your computer somewhere then it should be no problem to sync it again to your iPhone.
