QUOTE(Tayshawn67 @ Jun 5 2012, 10:54 PM) Hi all, forgive me cause I'm a little confused with all the terms used here and I'm lost in searching for a proper guide in updating iphone. use TU fix the recoverySo I have an iPhone 3gs running on 4.3.3 jailbroken, unlocked with ultrasn0w. Now it runs on 06.15.00-6.4_M3S2 baseband, before I restore, I saw that it is impossible to perform upgrade or downgrade with my baseband updated. But I didn't care, I just tried to update on my own. Of course all kinds of error popped out and I have to edit the host file to cydia ip address and I managed to go into update process in iTunes. But it always gets stucked at the last portion of the firmware restore to factory 4.3.3 then it goes to recovery screen. (This is because I believe that I need to do a factory restore before I can update to factory 5.1.1 and then jailbreak it. Is there other way?) In the end, I bricked my iphone, I'm only able to restore it back to 4.3.3 jailbreak with greenpoison and unlock it with ultrasn0w again. So the question is, I want to update to 5.1.1 jailbreak from my current 4.3.3 jailbreak and does not want to repeat the process of bricking mu iphone then restore back to 4.3.3 which is stupid to do so... Your help is much appreciated. Thanks a lot.=) This post has been edited by x132755: Jun 6 2012, 02:19 PM |

Stick to iOS 4? Apps nowadays needs iOS 5 to work, so I'm thinking of upgrading it. Is iOS 5 still unstable?

QUOTE(pisang @ Jun 6 2012, 09:11 PM) i'm using NCSettings... but i missed the 'respring' and 'Kill apps' function at SBSetting... There is a respring option under the power toggle. However you are right there is not kill app toggle but I find the kill app in sbsettings not functioning well. Even the clear memory no difference after I do it.any alternative? QUOTE(shawn87 @ Jun 6 2012, 09:26 PM) The pros my opinion:1. Simple and looks great in the notification center. 2. Totally lag free when pulling the notification center down, loads faster than the weather widget (Sbsettings always slows down the notification center pull down which annoys me) 3. Does not force you to install activator. Activator really annoys me because there is a bug till today not fixed. Everytime with activator installed even I am not using it at all, my youtube time bar very hard to drag it to skip a certain part of the video. Once activator uninstalled very easy to pull the bar. Cons: 1. Not as much toggles as sbsettings 2. Lack of certain features like kill app, viewing amount of ram, ip address etc. 3. Not as much themes as sbsettings |
