Are you putting your sub at the back?
*
nope, i actually place the sub in front of me beside the right speaker. this is due to the short rca cable that i have. beside there are no more space left for the sub at the back tongue.gif

Plan to get a set of HT system. Budget around 5-7K. With this budget, can I get:

Amp+Q700+Q600c+Q300+F15 sub?
*
well if u r ok with htib..the kef 3005se is actually a good 5.1 set. i auditioned it at perfect hifi amcorp mall. was also quoted rm4600 i think from style laser audio 3 months back. but for some strange reason, i opted for the kef q300 instead. just my 2 cents bro

I went to Harvey Norman last week and they have this Cambridge Audio set promo: Amp+5.1 RM5K. I am not sure is this value for money.

Then when I come here, I notice so many of you said that Q700/900 is very good. Then the F15 very good. So I mai try see can fit in my budget or not.

If around 7k budget, u can start off with a 2.1 setup, AVR+ Q300 + F15. Then u upgrade or add on from there.

then the phase setting is wrong. If it is right in front, then 0 deg. 180deg is when you hv your sub at the back of LP.

Q300 is a bookshelf speaker right? I prefer a floorstand speaker. I don't mind to upgrade my budget as long as it's value for money. What I mean is if I spend another 30% more but I can get 50% more quality, I am fine with that.

For the mean time, I will use the HT mainly for astro and some music. Can someone intro a Amp+Q series speakers+Amp for a start? Budget 8k.

For the Q900, Q600c and Q800ds, i wonder how does it compare to the B&W 683, HTM61 and DS3 combo since they're similar in price?

The Q series seem to have more flares vs the B&W 600 series but i think that ultimate mid range goes to B&W for its FST mid range driver. The Q series though has the Uni Q drivers which helps off axis dispersion meaning the sweet spot is wider. The critical listener though will be asking if the mid range cone break up will be evident for those songs intensive tracks/movies. I know the classic Q series cannot handle some vocal tracks.

Anyone can verify the latest Q series with its improved Uni Q has overcome the issue?

Lolx..unfortunately for a music/movie ALL in ONE system, KEF seems to be the choice to go after than B&W as KEF has matching dipole surround in each range all the way up to the Reference series unlike B&W doh.gif

He sold his Paradigm Studio and Rotel amp. And going for Bryston amp? Definitely not for Kef Q or B&W 600 series.
