For my case, it doesn't even have vcore setting.  laugh.gif
It has only mem voltage setting.
I think I am lucky to have a Gigabyte mobo with Intel mobo bios.  laugh.gif

Try update bios bro: F6

Already updated last night.
F6 still don't give vcore setting.
*

So you have just bought a wrong mobo for OC. sweat.gif
Looks bad without vCore sliders. sad.gif

Nope bro (hope is OK).
(Be carefull with Vcore !! ,he,he)

Also,
I can do this also for Asus low cost boards (or any).  flex.gif

Tried also BIOS for UD5H on my D3H (but must disable one Lan in BIOS).

Interesting on how a BIOS can be modded in this thread, in just 10 mins. Well done stasio! smile.gif

The bios is successfully flashed. It's detected as Z77-D3H.
However the setting is not running in actual.
I set 1.3v in bios and load with OCCT but the CPU-Z still show default vcore.

Could your mobo run in different core voltage with the modified bios?
Any idea?
*

afaik CPU-Z does not read vcore of Giga mobo correctly it's actually showing the VTT aka VCCIO

Yes, it seems Z77M-DSH doesn't have "Gigabyte 3D Power".
Bad Gigabyte.  doh.gif

I find "Intel system" is cracking down "overclocking at budget category".
My office PC, Nehalem/i3-540@4.6GHz is running well with Gigabyte H55M-SV.
Intel started "K" in Sandy Bridge.
Now with IB, the Z77 budget mATX looks like a joke now.  laugh.gif

Time to grab the baby monster Asus Maximus V Gene. This one is confirmed can OC like flying biggrin.gif

What we have is P8Z77M.

True. M Pro is not available in Msia, unfortunately.

torino,
Yes, you are correct. We are not bringing in P8Z77-M Pro. Only the P8Z77-V Pro.

Ok, done testing at 4.8GHz.

My Corsair H50 can't take it anymore.
If I were to run OCCT, I bet it can go up to 105c.

Besides, I don't feel comfortable with such high voltage.
I think it is the max it can go.

Added on May 19, 2012, 4:10 amJust to give you an idea how far i5-3570K can go.
4.8GHz generates alot of heat. You need pretty high voltage too. High end cooling is a must (i.e. customized water cooling)
4.7GHz is attainable for 24/7. You don't need watercooling. You just need a better HSF with good air ventilation in the casing.
4.6GHz @ 1.3v. Load temperature is about 80c. Both temperature and voltage fall into safe range for 24/7.
The sweetest spot is 4.5GHz @ 1.25v. Easy freebies at finger tip and very doable. Temperature under load will not exceed 75c.
4.3-4.4GHz, most pariah motherboards with NO vcore setting can hit that range. Load temperature does not exceed 70c.

Gratz on buying a better mATX board. IB loves subzero cooling.
I have ordered this not-so-extreme TEC block for my IB. ETA next week.

Finally my retail 3770K safely reached me yesterday. Thanks to hikari85 for keeps updating me.

So i have done some short Pi benchmark to test out its IMC in handling high speed RAM.
As usual my best RAM is Team Xtreem 2600C10....

3770K L215B260 @ 5.0GHz

2800 10-13-13-28-1T 1.85v vdiimm, 1.2v VCCSA, 1.25v VTT

Hi, I'm new to i5 3570K overclocking. I want to know why my Bus speed dipped below 100? Please check the screenshot to help me verify the problem and suggest me any recommendation.
I'm using,
Asus Sabertooth Z77
Corsair Vengeance 1600 C8 2x4GB
Corsair H80

*Correction on the Load Line Calibration screenshot, I'm currently using High preset 0.100 CPU Offset Preset.
*

Pls disable CPU Spread Spectrum

Sad that TNB killed your golden chip few days ago.

Yey biggrin.gif It fixed the bus speed. Thanks. I'm still trying to test for system stability. It's my core temperature normal ? I afraid it's too hot.

Looks quite normal. max is 105C so still can go higher. brows.gif

What you mean?  tongue.gif . And by the way, actual voltage from bios or CPU-Z?
EDITED: Just googled it, well, so what i'm going to do now is lower the vcore in bios and set the LLC to maximum right? smile.gif
*

Yes, google for load line calibration to learn about vdroop and vdrop. LLC is actually to control the vcore under load.

now running with "cap" tongue.gif
i will test with 2 different type thermal paste

1. IC diamond
2. MX4

btw.. my golden i7 was kill by tnb and now i got the bad chip with modify cap.
here the new result  laugh.gif

result drop about 10'c  laugh.gif
before:- (in bios monitor)
1.62v - 74c-76c (5.2ghz)
1.64v - 76c-77c
1.68v - 78c-81c
1.70v - no boot

after :- ( with ic diamond)
1.62v - 66c-68c (5.2ghz)
1.64v - 66c-68c
1.68v - 68c-70c
1.70v - 70c-72c (5.3ghz)  laugh.gif

what my exp told me is, u need to add 0.08-0.1v for the next multiplier. seriously IB is voltage suc|<er!!!  doh.gif
*

Nice surgery bro. For me 10C drop is significant.
Can run some benchie ie Cinebench?

My OS suffer from random program stop working error after OCed to 4.6Ghz. What cause this?
*

I believe insufficient vcore is the reason.
Try bumping up a few notches and that is why stability test is very important here for 24/7 operation.

Insufficient Vcore will also cause program crashes? I thought it only cause BSOD.

yes it will crash without BSOD too. Another reason is wrong mem settings.

You guys please correct me if i'm wrong

but the wise decision to go for now, is to wait for the next batch, and pray that they replace that cheapo TIM or come up with a better solution.
*

I'm afraid it would take an ages for a stepping revision like what happened to SB-E C1 -> C2.
Moreover until now still never heard announcement from Intel or rumour yet.

guys, is 3770k that hot? i tried 10 round of linx @ 4.7GHz (1.32v), max temp around 9x'c...  sweat.gif
*

IB is very hot internally only subzero cooling is able to handle the heat. sad.gif
I swear i will not run any stress test higher than 4.6GHz on my current cooling.
Duno if golden batch is able to LinX stable at 4.6-5.0GHz or not.
IB OCing is so boring without playing with RAM OC. For me binning for the best IMC is more fun than hunting for the highest CPU clock biggrin.gif

exactly bro... this makes me have d thought of offloadin d board + 3770k. get a decent low/midrange board, 3570k and decent sticks just to play w/ ram oc... tbh, i'm not really into high cpu clocks...  sweat.gif
*

TBH I feel bad with CPU OCing since SB-E. this platform also needs more cold to go higher. Best my 3930K could do at 5.1GHz under water. Same thing for 3770K as it can go higher with better cooling.

point taken bro... actually i find more joy in tweakin ram rather than pushin max cpu clock as d latter usually spells more moolah involved (better coolin). ram tweakin on d other hand is more economical. not applicable for IB thou as sticks capable of high freq are not cheap, at least for now. i jumped at d wrong time i guess...  laugh.gif  doh.gif  tongue.gif
*

Yalor wrong timing to hop bro... Me like other ppl also demanding for a fix from Intel. This heat issue has ruined the awesomeness of 77w TDP & 22nm of IB.
