I've put it on sale in our GS pls check it out. biggrin.gif

Update: there's a false reading on the RealTemp as posted above the lowest core temp should be 0C minimum because by default Realtemp reported 91C as TJmax as opposed to original spec which is 105C.

just join the club..
i5-3570K,Asrock Z77 Professional M,Vengeance 1333MHz 8GB,H70
now using stock only, just set up my rig....
so far temp idle initial cores varies 37~38c only but CPU temp is 52c

i've gone thru 26 pages of this topic..normal isn't it?
wonder if OC 4.6GHz how high will it be?

*ram i revert from 1600 to 1333MHz coz CEX no stock for Vengeance LP 1600MHz
coz my clearance in TJ-08E only 54mm....will it hold me back to OC cpu to 4.6GHz?
*

Looks more or less same as others. Ambient/room temp also will affect the core temp.

IB is hot due to bad TIM used between the IHS and the die so heat dessipation is not as efficient and effective as it should be.

Depends on what vcore it consumes every chip is different. My dud 3570K @ 4.5GHz hit 90C+ under water powered by two triple rads. That was when stressed with AVX-enabled LinX on win7 SP1. For non stress 24/7 4.6GHz was fine without throttling (speed reduction when reaching TJmax of 105C).

Btw, I heard Maximus V Formula (Thunderbolt and non TB edition) is supposed to hit our market within these few days i saw some resellers already put it in their price list. Extreme model - no ETA yet smile.gif

For 24/7 usage, do you u guys turn off the Intel speed step? Or leave just leave it on to save power?
*
depends on you whether want to save TNB bill or not but I usually turn EIST off.
I also noticed that you're using single channel RAM (1 stick) this will draw back the performance of your system.
grab another stick for dual channel to double up the memory bandwidth.

yes using single stick only at the moment, is it causing the gflops to drop also ? lol, still deciding on the ram. maybe going for trident x

trying to stay 4.5Ghz @ 1.3v for 24/7 use with EIST on. Run prime 95 large FFT coded with AVX for 8 hours. Linx 20 run. Max 80c recorded with 212 EVO
*
Very nice. Now try find the lowest stable vcore.
I'm not sure about the Gflops on single channel RAM but my dual channel GFlops is the same as yours. Dont know whether LinX is buggy or not the GFlops looks kinda low. By rights should be 100+. Hmm.

Kevin, just a question, using prime 95 coded with AVX ; when i run the small FTT torture, it produces a lot more heat then Linx lol. 1.3v my temp already reach 94c on about 15min only!

But when i torture on blend test, max 80c only for 8 hours as in the picture for my last post.

Is it normal? why the small ftt encoded with AVX stress the hell out of the CPU. even LinX for 20 run i only hit 85c~88c
What the **** is that AVX anyway laugh.gif

well i have run again the LinX @ 2600
looks like i got 100+ as opposed to 1600 @ 80+

IB will not degrade at all like what happened to SB. nod.gif
LLC high is actually the best tolerance of vdroop as the vcore is not fluctuate too much like other level of LLC.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Jun 26 2012, 06:57 AM)
Hello folks. I'm in need of serious help.

My HD5870 is plagued with problems like game crashing and screen turning white/grey/black/blue/red and becomes unresponsive as a result (sound still on)

I managed to solve the game crashing issue by reducing memory clock which greatly helped in stabilizing the card but the white screen problem (when not gaming) is still persistent.

One website mentioned about GSOD:
http://www.overclock.net/t/650900/gray-scr...ated-w-solution

Anthrr link http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ATI-Radeo...Crash,9529.html

So how do I overclock my CPU now? Which program should I use and what voltages are safe?

Specs (in my siggy): i5-3450(no cpu cooler), HD5870, 500W PSU

Please help notworthy.gif
*
I think the OCN thread has explained enough the GSOD issue so if still persist then that sounds like a card problem. Send it for RMA. nod.gif
i5 3450 has a locked multiplier with turbo up to 3.9 only hence at such a low clock it should run fine at stock vcore.
OC in BIOS settings. You're asking the wrong person about safe voltage - check out first post for basic notes.

I did check out anandtech about Ivi Bridge overclocking tips but really too much for me to understand at all sad.gif

So, my i5-3450 3.1GHz can overclock up to 3.9GHz?

Btw, sorry for the late reply..
*
3450
You can set turbo multiplier up to 39x althou Intel specs is 35x
Max BCLK depends on CPU & mobo
Hwbot record for 3450 is 4.2GHz

estimate what voltage should i set to achieve 4.0ghz?
i5 2500K and asus p8z77-m
or i should set it auto voltage?
*
Every chip is different. Tried 4GHz @ auto vcore stable? If not then raise it, not stable raise it until stable so I guess that's an easy job.

Pls proceed to the appropriate thread for SB aka 2500K/2600K/2700K.

ya i saw the thread. subcethis is my first time oc so i wanna learn all the mobo function first, from the cyntrixtech quote, i tried 4.0ghz with 1.15v is it too low? i straight got BSODĀ  sweat.gif
*

He is using a 3570K, which is totally different from your CPU the 2500K; although the same mobo.
Now you need to increase the vcore until you get away from the BSOD.

Added on July 3, 2012, 10:37 amOr set vcore to 1.3v, then test with LinX/Prime95/3DM Vantage CPU test
If stable then try lower vcore like 1.29v, 1.27v and so on until you get the lowest vcore stable at that speed
Good luck! biggrin.gif

Don't mind if I ask, have you tried this CPU with 2c2t before?
What's the lowest vcore required to complete a 32M run at 5GHz?
*

Yo bro... 5GHz 2c2T lowest vcore i tried was 1.38v to complete 32m. 5GHz 4c8t is no go on 3D. Cooling limit & it loves voltage. sad.gif

Gonna get another 2pcs of 3770K & MVF tommorow hopefully better than the current chip.
