You still got headroom there, why don't you push more and see how far your chip can go. smile.gif

Btw guys, thinking of getting another i5 3570k. Not quite satisfied with it. Any batch should I look for? hmm.gif

There's no such best batch, it's all about draw of luck.
Visit a few shops and buy 100 pcs & you will most probably find 3-5 pcs of good ones.  biggrin.gif

I've been doing some reading on other forum & really jealous seeing their 3570k able to go 4.7 with the same voltage as mine. sad.gif

i feel you bro... i still remember how hard to find a nice 2600K myself from store nearby.
lastly forked out RM2k+ to buy a used one which was confirmed able to clock 5GHz HT @ 1.4v ish, 5.6GHz on air.
but recently a lil bit lucky as the 3rd 3770K i bought can clock 5GHz HT @ 1.4v ish. Just that the IMC strength is not like what i'm looking for. (2800+)
Meanwhile, from experience the lower the temp, the lower vCore your chip needs.
So get a decent cooler for your CPU.
*
Maybe my luck has run out when picking 960T, manage to unlock & max oc 3.8Ghz @ 6-core laugh.gif.
Tbh, I was looking forward for IB oc. Made my jump from AMD to Intel after seeing SB oc really well.
I have zero experience on WC. My best route would be H100 but I bet it will not lower my temp drastically. The best solution would be delid, which i think i don't have balls to do it sweat.gif. But then, I still got a lot of things in my mind right now. Currently saving for gpu upgrade. Idk when will i be going under water. laugh.gif

Alright these threads will roughly give you an idea on goodness of Costa Rica batches.

I've seen this thread b4, they all so damn lucky.. Im really jealous with this guy. Not so many people got a good 3570k.

Added on October 2, 2012, 3:18 pmCurious, got sell costa rica batch in malaysia? Will think about getting another 3570k after my exam. New plan in mind, ditch ssd & 3570k for 3770k.

there was Costa Rica batch previously but now mostly are Made in Malaysia.
don't throw the SSD bro it is a good stuff for your rig. for me
3570K + SSD is more worthy than a 3770K

are you referring to -JJ- the XS member with 3570K batch L209C112?
Look at his low GFlops, obviously he's not running either the latest LinX w/ AVX or win7 SP1.
For sure his chip needs more than that with proper LinX and win7 SP1.

btw, congrats to Andre Yang, Shamino, Hazzan and coolice for breaking 4 WR today.  thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif  rclxms.gif

Yeah -JJ-, i do remember his gflops is around 80 if im not mistaken. hmm.gif
Idk why im leaning towards 3770k right now. Hopefully i didn't regret this decision. laugh.gif

Is that the vcore needed to stable your oc? Normally 1.37v should give you around 4.6~4.7Ghz, unless you get a bad chip which needed that kind of vcore to be stable @ 4.5Ghz.

Sorry bro im not @ home right now, next week then be going back. sad.gif
But i do have this: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=51321928
4.2Ghz @ 1.19v. But during this time im still using my old board & cooler. For 4.3Ghz, maybe around 1.21~1.24 i think. Cant really remember. sweat.gif

My 3570k at 4.5ghz need 1.3550 to stable. And the max temp i got is similar as yours.im using noctua nh d14 cooler, guess I got a bad chip.  If want go higher clock I think 4770k will be doing a better job
*
Hey bro good to know got friend using same cooler here. biggrin.gif Anyway what's your temp like @ 4.5ghz?

Lucky i didnt get MSI Z77A-G43 last time i bought Extreme4 because MSI's mobo cheaper that Ex4 sweat.gif

Z77-G43 should be okay for daily usage. smile.gif Btw, this might help you with the bios setting, got this from here: aar0nsky 4.6GHz BIOS Settings

Thanks for da BIOS setting information notworthy.gif

Im not really familiar with OCCT. tongue.gif
Try use LinX or IBT, give it a quick run to check for instability. 5-10 run should be okay. Usually if your oc not stable, 1-3 run already crash/bsod. Don't forget to change the stress level to maximum. I prefer those 2 cos its really stress your cpu, faster in detecting instability. But it does give +-10c higher temp compare to prime95. For 24/7 oc, i usually left my rig overnight running prime95. smile.gif

Just try for IBT for 3 runs but why my reading Linpack Output average like this?

Times = 277secs
Speed = 64 GFLops
Result = 4.xxxxxxe-002

Looks like slower speed then yours cry.gif

On load, vDroop to 1.16v and didnt crash/BSOD my cpu.
*
You already update your windows to sp1? this is a must in order to enable avx, so more stress for your cpu. that's why my gflops around 100+.

Last time i also suffer low gflops, but it seems to be solved after restart and change the ram speed. hmm.gif Your using latest IBT right? Try use linx, see what happen.

Thanks , but the main part is whether the motherboard able to fit 212 evo which the ram is very near to cpu. This motherboard p8z77-vlx www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_LX/
And , newbie , does remove backplate void the warranty of the motherboard? icon_question.gif  unsure.gif

Thanks
Any board should fit without problem. The cooler will not block the ram slot, unless you use corsair vengeance ram.

Low profile ram should fit just below the fan. You don't need to remove the backplate to use this cooler. Follow the instructions and you should good to go. I used this b4 upgrade to nh-d14. smile.gif This cooler is nothing compared to nh-d14 which eat 4 slot of my ram. laugh.gif

Really I dont need to remove the motherboard backplate before installing the 212 evo backplate ? unsure.gif http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/upload/dow...Manual-0716.pdf
Looks scare to me after reading this http://aphnetworks.com/reviews/cooler_master_hyper_212_evo  unsure.gif

Yes you don't need to remove the base of the heatsink, the retention plate should be sandwiched with it. Somehow from the link you provided, he's telling the truth. Even after you assemble the hsf, you can still move it in twisting fashion, exactly like what he said. But it shouldn't be a problem. It's solid enough to give the right pressure to mount it, and the cooling should working fine. The only thing i was scared of is no rubber under the retention plate, so the retention plate has direct contact with your mobo. So don't screw it too tight, just give the right pressure.

I am not extreme overclocker , how about hyper TX3 evo ? the one only have clips like normal intel fan.Shouldn't be moving right ?
What it worry , after like few years using,  the whole big 212 12cm fan drop or fall down . cry.gif
Able to move or twist = not tight enough but if tight enough = retention plate has direct contact with the mobo  sad.gif

Do you think TX3 evo able to OC to 4.5Ghz ?  Just going to convert video for afew hours maybe 5 hours , after that just use it as normal stock or 4.0Ghz for gaming. unsure.gif

Thanks smile.gif
*
I never use TX-3 before but it will perform worst than CM 212 Plus/Evo, as seen most in review. CM 212 is the best budget cooler out there. I doubt TX-3 will able to handle 4.5Ghz unless you got lucky having a really good chip which need low vcore to stable @ 4.5Ghz. But for 4.0Ghz, Tx-3 should handle it without problem. Only if u intend to oc then it might struggle in keeping the temperature low.

Trying to find to lowest stable vcore for my 4.5Ghz. But anything lower than 1.29v, will give WHEA error. does this mean instability?
