Why my idle clock wont return to 1600Mhz eh? Suddenly it is constant at 4.5Ghz lol. Wonder what did i do
*
EIST disable? Enable it should do the trick.

i oc my 3570k to 4.5ghz stable for 5h  print screen but forgot to save T_T btw 4.5ghz at 74c normal? or i need get better cooler?
*
74c on 4.5Ghz is pretty good. TJMax is 105c, under 95c should be okay. How much vcore do you need for 4.5Ghz? And what stress test tools you use? prime95/ibt/linx?

vcore 1.216v test both using ibt and prime 95 ... prime stable 5 hours for ibt quite stable set for maximun 10times but temp reach 85c
*
The temp is fine, im hitting 103c on highest core during prime95 8 hours. But my daily usage, the temperature didnt even hit more than 80c.

4.6Ghz daily. smile.gif Ur volt very2 good. Mine need 1.3v for 4.5 and 1.39v for 4.6. Without delid, only able to go 4.4.

Actually I need to increase vcore to 1.31 for stability.
Temperature still averages 69-70 but max for for 4 core is still lower half of 70++ with Prime95.
For gaming and cpu intensive work still average 50 to lower half of 60++..
Idling temp is upper half of 30++..
Using CM Hyper 212 Evo - push pull setup.
How long should we run a stress test ? I don't want to leave it whole day running Prime95 cos I dun subscribe to long stress test run where there is possibility of damaging the cpu.
Is there any reason why people should run lower vcore ranging from 1.1 to 1.2?
I'm using normal 1333 Kingston RAM btw, how could this 1333 RAM speed affect the overclocking process?
*
Temperature seems fine. As long as you keep it below 95c during stress test then its good to go.
For stress test, minimum of 3 hours. Usually I run 6-8 hours of Prime95. Until today, never faced any problem.
Lower vcore = lower temperature = more headroom to oc.
As long as you leave your ram on default settings then it will not affect oc process.

Thanks. I think I am contend with the current setup at 4.5ghz. Pretty stable.

4.5Ghz is pretty good. smile.gif
I envy your temperature. My proc also need 1.3v for 4.5Ghz but even using NH-D14 temp reaching 103c during stress test. maybe cos my room temp is high.

Got any failure case here? According to the poll on OCN, only 70% success and the rest 30% failed miserably, quite risky to delid IMO.

Also does the value of the chip drop significantly after delid? Coz you're basically wipe the warranty by yourself, and I wonder who's gonna to buy delid CPU, unless it's very cheap and golden chip.  hmm.gif
*
So far still none. I don't have any experience in deliding, but 1 try = success. Just make sure you do it really2 careful. 1 mistake can ruin your proc. IMO, yes the value sure drop but not so low. If you thinking to delid, make sure you find your proc's potential 1st. Its not worth to do it if your proc is a bad oc.

Hi... Want to ask.. I overclocked my i5 3570k to 4.4ghz and the temperature hit 90 under load using inter burn test.. Is it normal? I use asrock z77 extreme4 with offset +0.005v and cm hyper 212 evo
*
Seems normal to me. Under 95c still consider safe. Max temp before your processor start to throttle is 105c. Give it a long stress test to check for stability, be sure to keep an eye on your temp though. smile.gif
