Blue better, black can't see the shape and blue is easier to see when u park at basement  rclxms.gif

Oi. Black nice liao. Black > Blue! laugh.gif

QUOTE(bem69 @ Apr 18 2012, 04:23 PM)
Damnnnn, (changing subjects) so, are you taking a black?
*
Yep. Sent my SA at text saying want to change to black biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Junn @ Apr 18 2012, 05:41 PM)
Next week take car, if no issue

I envy you sad.gif

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Apr 18 2012, 06:28 PM)
very stupid, as a manufacturing engineer, tat part is considered a sealed part, where it is not the exterior of a car, i will just weld it, and if the weld integrity is there, then what for u go and make that part pretty since ppl are not so dumb to go and look at this kind of place everytime, and they only can see them when they open and close door, heck i don think ppl even really look at those part, who the fk open door and stare at the door inner part for awhile then go out of the car? (only those fuking dumb mofo did this)
*
Dude, I understand the frustration. A lot of people are self-proclaimed experts when it comes to Protons. Suddenly they know everything about structural integrity and what not. Heh. Try it on a different badge "State-of-the-art technology!" "Imagine the thought process put into designing such a safe car!" yada yada yada *yawns*

Besides, how the heck are they supposed to "clean" the weld? No point in doing that. Might as well not weld it in the first place sweat.gif I suppsoe they could've put some sort of sticker or plastic to hide the "imperfection".

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Apr 18 2012, 06:32 PM)
its called spot weld bro. its not meant to be neat. its meant to be strong.
*
Explain that to the masses bro. They don't care. Aesthetics ranks far too high in today's society. And the brand. Heh. What has our society degenerated into?

QUOTE(blo0dLuSt @ Apr 18 2012, 06:44 PM)
later proton said : can ma. but if polish make it weaker , do u still wanna polish it?

read more on spot weld.
*
Spot on. Pun clearly intended.

QUOTE(alan1123 @ Apr 18 2012, 07:31 PM)
Maybe preve is high tech and all that, but we cannot ignore car is like a ''status'' for majority of people

not all people know car like we do here in LYN and we are consider as minority people who know some about car

but what about those people that don know? they only know itu import, ini buatan tempatan

thats all they know! thats why if image and status is your concern , better buy a car that can be use to fetch your isteri at your perkahwinan rather than a proton...lol
*
Car and status? WTF? Lol. Seriously. Car and status? Omg, I repeated myself. Please excuse my repetition. I just found that statement somewhat...amusing. Kind of took me by suprise there.

So I drive a proton and that makes me...lesser in other people's eyes? Hold on, lemme find the f**k i give laugh.gif

Honestly, if the public service is better, I'd ditch the car and take the train man. Just like our public transport advocate Kampung biggrin.gif

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Apr 18 2012, 07:32 PM)
i buy car to get to point A n B with safety and comfort. The F do i care what other ppl thinks lol. wanna care about status i would of bought that vios and people would say...wahhhh its a toyota..banyak baguss ini..

instead i bought a forte, and ppl would say.. ceh korean car.. mesti tarak bagus..
*
Where's the like button? Car is for convenience leh. Not status symbol. If you want status symbol, then proudly display your uni sticker at the back of your car. Not the car you drive. laugh.gif

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Apr 18 2012, 08:17 PM)
Income tax so low my ass lol. In the US xda roadtax , tak ada cukai pintu.. no GST.. lol.. one of the reason my family finally migrating abroad and we are bumiputeras sommore.
*
Heh. Very true bro. A lot of people don't see it though. The country...was a better place. Though people really shouldn't harp about the 300% currently non-existent tax. And someone made a very good point about the government approval of car prices - case in point ford vs T (was it you dares that made thsi reference?).

But that's severely OT.

QUOTE(steven.7676 @ Apr 18 2012, 08:36 PM)
saw and sit on it at proton show room yesterday. the design of the meter not to my liking. the front seat have good support but the rear seat are to soft to my liking. it make you sink to the seat. the seat are low like previous proton. so make higher for easy access.
do you all notice that preve steering rack cant be adjusted.
*
Incorrect. It can be adjusted. It's not telescopic, yes, but height can be adjusted. First thing I did when I got in the car.

Speaking of the interior, I'll have to take back what I said about it not being as polished. Well not everything, just some of it. It could do better (obviously), but for their first try at a global car, I must say it has a very conti feel. If you're a ricer/wannabe ricer/only drive Japs/Korean/etc then yeah, the design would suck balls since it's not in your playground. However, if you're into the sleek, simple design type, then the Prevé's interior fits the bill.

After sitting in the car, I found that most things actually jive. Not so from the photos though. I still find the HU to be too small though. Still, design wise. I like it.

What I do NOT like was the fact that the fuel gauge is electronic. I like analogue. They did so well for the knobs and all...and they had to spoil it. Minor niggle though. Just a personal preference.

To all proud preve owner,

why don't we discuss and share our passion in this forum. i dunno who created this forum but it is more structured to discuss there than go through 30 pages in one day here.

Bro Monkey King has posted in another thread regarding the weld spots which I think is very true.

QUOTE(Monkey King @ Apr 18 2012, 09:01 PM)
i am not basher nor supporter, i've been working in 1 of the reputable local assembly plant for Japanese vehicle before.

judging from the photo, i may conclude

1. yes it is spot weld, nothing wrong with that.
2. the quality of spot weld is not acceptable by JIS body shop standard (pre assemble the metal part before send for paintworks)
3. 1 of the photo clearly shown misalignment of the 2 panels, should the panels involve mechanical movement, ie window glass railings, this may distort the movement thus case premature power-window issues.
4. the poor welding finishing may cause water ingression and develop rust in future (as you can see on top right photo, there might already be some rust mark there)

Just my 2 cents. Hope that proton can improve in this

Hahaha....

regarding the welding part, one thing proton can do is to cover that area with black plastic cover. Mercedes car got black cover on the top half of the door... hehe, maybe if you removed the cover you can also find similar type of welding...hehe

but, even if mercedes car got that kind of welding, it will be okay, since it is mercedes... hehe

btw, the sensotronic brake system in my e240 got problem recently and the cost to change that part is almost RM10K...should I say " I could not accept such quality " ?
*
for your reading pleasure

anyway yes for people who already drive car for more than 10years,thats a shody job

here's my experience on driving the Preve: http://www.simonhar.com/2012/04/driven-pro...reve-16cfe.html

Other than some slight jerkiness when slowing down and quality issues, the Preve is quite good smile.gif

OH my....rusting spot weld on a brand new car...
Why so many ppl can accept this? Proton did a good job with other features, hence giving those ppl who believed and perceived that it's a good product.

You know, having blind bashers doesn't mean the supporters are blind supporters.

If the welding was done like this particular photo, then the quality unacceptable la. But it's not on all the cars right? Most of the other photos, it just looks horrible. Merely cosmetic. Haih.

Enough with the trolling already la. Got legit point go ahead. But repeat same story over and over again...It gets old.

And reflects poorly on the person posting it.

just test drive the car this evening, yea..felt that car is hard to move from standstill even when the rpm is 1.5k...car only started to 'awake' when reaches 2k rpm...even then, the power is so so only....this could be an (dangerous) issue if want to turn out from junction etc as you dont have enough power to accelerate..this will lead you to step on the gas paddle more for the power (which means higher fuel consumption???)...maybe have to get used to the power....but once its moving, no problem then..S mode is something i like though...

their 1.6cc 2.0power is bullshiat...anyhoo..will test drive forte again to make a decision

*
whats the prtn engineers are thinking?a 1.6 engine to propel a 1300kg car with only having a turbo thats only fuly-activated at 2000rpm?
like i said, turbo alone are not enough to help propel the car smoothly from 0-1500rpm since it only fully-activated after that range

half-baked prtn engineers,no?huhuhu whistling.gif

The technology is very good indeed in preve, but do you guy believe that it cost rm73k? ( to be fun enough)

that is like ''a lot'' for a local car

i can't believe it, maybe rm65k more ok to pay the money
*
Rm73k for local car like Preve is okay
Not like im paying 73k for wira or saga
