very stupid, as a manufacturing engineer, tat part is considered a sealed part, where it is not the exterior of a car, i will just weld it, and if the weld integrity is there, then what for u go and make that part pretty since ppl are not so dumb to go and look at this kind of place everytime, and they only can see them when they open and close door, heck i don think ppl even really look at those part, who the fk open door and stare at the door inner part for awhile then go out of the car? (only those fuking dumb mofo did this)
Dude, I understand the frustration. A lot of people are self-proclaimed experts when it comes to Protons. Suddenly they know everything about structural integrity and what not. Heh. Try it on a different badge "State-of-the-art technology!" "Imagine the thought process put into designing such a safe car!" yada yada yada *yawns*
Besides, how the heck are they supposed to "clean" the weld? No point in doing that. Might as well not weld it in the first place

I suppsoe they could've put some sort of sticker or plastic to hide the "imperfection".

its called spot weld bro. its not meant to be neat. its meant to be strong.
Explain that to the masses bro. They don't care. Aesthetics ranks far too high in today's society. And the brand. Heh. What has our society degenerated into?
QUOTE(blo0dLuSt @ Apr 18 2012, 06:44 PM)
later proton said : can ma. but if polish make it weaker , do u still wanna polish it?
read more on spot weld.
Spot on. Pun
clearly intended.

Maybe preve is high tech and all that, but we cannot ignore car is like a ''status'' for majority of people
not all people know car like we do here in LYN and we are consider as minority people who know some about car
but what about those people that don know? they only know itu import, ini buatan tempatan
thats all they know! thats why if image and status is your concern , better buy a car that can be use to fetch your isteri at your perkahwinan rather than a proton...lol
Car and status? WTF? Lol. Seriously. Car and status? Omg, I repeated myself. Please excuse my repetition. I just found that statement somewhat...amusing. Kind of took me by suprise there.
So I drive a proton and that makes me...lesser in other people's eyes? Hold on, lemme find the f**k i give

Honestly, if the public service is better, I'd ditch the car and take the train man. Just like our public transport advocate Kampung

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Apr 18 2012, 07:32 PM)
i buy car to get to point A n B with safety and comfort. The F do i care what other ppl thinks lol. wanna care about status i would of bought that vios and people would say...wahhhh its a toyota..banyak baguss ini..
instead i bought a forte, and ppl would say.. ceh korean car.. mesti tarak bagus..
Where's the
like button? Car is for convenience leh. Not status symbol. If you want status symbol, then proudly display your uni sticker at the back of your car. Not the car you drive.

Income tax so low my ass lol. In the US xda roadtax , tak ada cukai pintu.. no GST.. lol.. one of the reason my family finally migrating abroad and we are bumiputeras sommore.
Heh. Very true bro. A lot of people don't see it though. The country...was a better place. Though people really shouldn't harp about the 300% currently non-existent tax. And someone made a very good point about the government approval of car prices - case in point ford vs T (was it you dares that made thsi reference?).
But that's severely OT.

saw and sit on it at proton show room yesterday. the design of the meter not to my liking. the front seat have good support but the rear seat are to soft to my liking. it make you sink to the seat. the seat are low like previous proton. so make higher for easy access.
do you all notice that preve steering rack cant be adjusted.
Incorrect. It can be adjusted. It's not telescopic, yes, but height
can be adjusted. First thing I did when I got in the car.
Speaking of the interior, I'll have to take back what I said about it not being as polished. Well not everything, just some of it. It could do better (obviously), but for their first try at a global car, I must say it has a very conti feel. If you're a ricer/wannabe ricer/only drive Japs/Korean/etc then yeah, the design would suck balls since it's not in your playground. However, if you're into the sleek, simple design type, then the Prevé's interior fits the bill.
After sitting in the car, I found that most things actually jive. Not so from the photos though. I still find the HU to be too small though. Still, design wise. I like it.
What I do NOT like was the fact that the fuel gauge is electronic. I like analogue. They did so well for the knobs and all...and they had to spoil it. Minor niggle though. Just a personal preference.
