I like the beige interior .... gives a more airy feel ..... but takes away some of the sportiness of the cabin

QUOTE(feng yun @ May 11 2012, 09:31 PM) Guys, anyone try charging i phone with usb port only? I tried mine and it didn't work, only iPod cable (provided) worked. Anyone try charging i-phone with i-phone usb charger? Why??? Added on May 13, 2012, 11:00 amWhen i tried, radio keep showing "reading usb" and the charging sign in i-phone keep showing charging ON then charging OFF then charging ON... continue. I wonder is this because of lack of current from K5 usb port? This post has been edited by feng yun: May 13 2012, 11:00 AM |

QUOTE(fer0 @ May 13 2012, 12:30 AM) that's the thing..sometime the "home ministry" have more say hahaha. BTW, thanks everyone for the reply. I'm currently based oversea and will be coming back to Malaysia soon (1-3 months time). Was in KL last week to arrange the transfer etc2. I went to local KIA showroom here (Muscat, Oman) perhaps want to share some pics of K5 offered here. damn, more options for colours. last week i went to KIA showroom JB, Wang Loo KIA, to book Forte for my sis, then viewed K5 as well. didnt test drive it yet as they didnt have any test drive unit for K5, but it's a bit disappointed only 3 colours are available. The salesman there said the dark blue colour (my best bet) as in the catalog has been phased out by Naza and will be replaced with a lighter sea blue. Is it true? Here goes[attachmentid=2837637][attachmentid=2837638][attachmentid=2837640][attachmentid=2837643] |

Is it true? Yes, there is a new color as you said "sea blue", catalog name is called Light Graphite. But I don't know whether will Naza phased out the dark blue (Platinum Graphite). This post has been edited by bUGG: May 13 2012, 02:56 PM |

Just now went to test drive the K5 and 508, honestly, the K5 handling, a lot of people claimed the handling is very good, comparable to the conti car, but to my surprise, the handling for the K5 is not really good, Kia tried to setup the k5 with firmer suspension, but this kind of setup not only spoiled the riding comfort for the car, it also at the same time give the car unresponsive handling and noisy plus rough ride in d-segment vehicle, and the engine refinement is really not there, especially when the rpm rev above 3000rpm, you will hear loud rough engine noise. When test the 508, the whole situation is totally different, it looks a bit dull for me, and you don't expect that this will have good handling base on the design, but I was wrong, this car give a responsive engine output even with such low engine capacity, the handling also very good and the steering give a very good feedback when compare to the K5, which almost can't feel any feedback. The 508 responsive handling is what I really like, and this suspension setup not as firm as the K5, which totally kill the comfortness. When compare to the accessories and features, the 508 is comparable to the K5, but for sure the price is a bit on the premium side for such a low engine capacity. I do hope the K5 can be installed a smaller tyre, at least can help to regain some comfortness, which I told the salesman and he agreed it as well.

In fact, to my surprise, it is supremely comfort as compare to 508 which i personally tested few weeks ago. However, this can be subjective to different people. But I do agree on the steering feedback upon 508 is way engaging than K5. |

K5 has the looks and all that but imo, 508 is way better in handling, almost similar to what bmw has to give. somehow, in 508 you get the robust feel, but like you said, everything is pretty subjective. i personally dislike 508's looks. now that its 148k, its definitely gonna spice up the d segment choices as alot of buyers out there dream of driving contis, even though if its not a 'true blood' conti, according to some This post has been edited by Kalist0: May 13 2012, 07:49 PM |

It also largely depends on what vehicle the review was driving before |

It is very personal riding. I tested 508 also before I bought k5. Imho, k5 has the killer look and price affordability. Service cost lower too.
508 on the other hand drives better, with small 1.6 cap but output is great with the turbo setup. But then anything with turbo = service pricey. Handling wise, Conti is still Conti. I never expect Korean or Jap will ride better. |

REALLY?????? 508 is already a CKD plus its just RM148k????? I've booked the K5 already. I must say, the one think i like about the 508 than the k5 is what the k5 doesnt have, i.e. Front sensor, windows shed and the doors in 508 are heavier n more solid. Plus it gives a taike look.
However the k5 seems to be quiter n more spacious. Arghhhh..... I'm torn between both sides. Better start a thread to see what people thinks about these 2 cars. |
