Just now went to test drive the K5 and 508, honestly, the K5 handling, a lot of people claimed the handling is very good, comparable to the conti car, but to my surprise, the handling for the K5 is not really good, Kia tried to setup the k5 with firmer suspension, but this kind of setup not only spoiled the riding comfort for the car, it also at the same time give the car unresponsive handling and noisy plus rough ride in d-segment vehicle, and the engine refinement is really not there, especially when the rpm rev above 3000rpm, you will hear loud rough engine noise. When test the 508, the whole situation is totally different, it looks a bit dull for me, and you don't expect that this will have good handling base on the design, but I was wrong, this car give a responsive engine output even with such low engine capacity, the handling also very good and the steering give a very good feedback when compare to the K5, which almost can't feel any feedback. The 508 responsive handling is what I really like, and this suspension setup not as firm as the K5, which totally kill the comfortness. When compare to the accessories and features, the 508 is comparable to the K5, but for sure the price is a bit on the premium side for such a low engine capacity. I do hope the K5 can be installed a smaller tyre, at least can help to regain some comfortness, which I told the salesman and he agreed it as well.

ya to me it would be better if K5 could be equipped with the EPS rather than normal hydraulic one. As speed builds up, EPS gets heavier. For normal steering, constant force, even at high speed, therefore handling should be less refined unless we can get used to it. Correct me If im wrong..  hmm.gif

You are wrong, the hydraulic will be better for steering response and feedback, Cybermaster problem is a normal for Hyunday and Kia, this is due to the steering did not have the speed sensing capability and the other is Hyundai and Kia tuned the steering accordng to the chasis/platform capability, if not you will feel the car become very dull to drive. Take a spin in a VW Passat and you will know the big different for K5.

R u sure a Vios has better grip and handling compared to a k5? Anyway, cm98 is very right, k5 does not provide the steering feedback which at certain time on rough road u don't get the firm handling. By anyhow, compare to Camry this k5 is much better handling and I would say only lose out to 508, mondeo which is the same category and near pricing.

Dude, have you driven the Teana and Accord, I found these 2 cars handling is much better compare to the K5, not to mention the above such as Mondeo. I found the K5 handling is quite similar to the Sonata, just Kia used a firmer suspension only, but the handling isn't much improve, still found the steering not responsive and the rear wheel also reluctant to follow the steering direction, hence resulted the driver need to reduce the speed to safely turning is a sharp corner.

I don't think Toyota would be so stupid to design a car that the steering will locked suddenly in the middle of driving, if when the steering locked and the other side coming a lorry that would unstoppable at such distance and speed, so the driver will be dead 100%, this is not a proper car should behave in any circumstances. Too fishy the video and the driver as well.
