I would ask on how hard do you go with VMware? Planning to run more than two vm? What bits are they and any server-based? But of course you can always ultilize the max potential of a vm. Next to me, is a desktop running 4 server vm with 4gb to 8gb configured smile.gif Sadly it isnt mine though biggrin.gif

On my laptop, I can run 5 VM's in VMware Workstation (2x Virtual ESXi, 1x AD, 1x VMware vCenter, 1x VMware View Connection), and also a VM(Windows 8) within a VM(Virtual ESXi). tongue.gif

Ultrabooks are aimed to be light and portable, at the expense of performance. Since you are looking for a light weight, then ultrabooks are pretty much the ones you could consider...

Oh wait, there's this one brows.gif
13"
Toshiba Portégé R830-2071U, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM3399[1.4kg], W7P, 4GB, 640GB (7200rpm), 2nd & 3rd year international warranty, color: metallic black

*the price should be around RM3k now nod.gif

Its light, runs on a full-fletch processor (not ULV like those in ultrabooks), and even has an optical drive brows.gif

SSD stands for Solid-state-drive... basically a super fast replacement for the conventional harddisk nod.gif
