Lol, but sometimes you could not blame a guy. I say one old guy doing a very partial squat and the trainer did not even advice them the proper technique. Hell, I ask the trainer to become a 'spotter' when I do bench press and he actually lift it for me for the whole rep. I mean you spot not help... but hes a nice guy but trainer should really do what they pay for... train.

exactly.... i actually has a video recording the trainer training one client, the client back is curving but he is like looking left and right for chicks or man that he loves....

Yeah. Some are just not aware. Who knows, maybe some day they'll come to senses upon reading and they can correct others. hehe.

Everyone can be a PT if they want but the knowledge that they have will determine if they are a good PT or not. Like in my gym, all the PTs are giving advice that I must do cardio exercise to lose the fat before start doing weightlifting which is for me is very wrong as the best way to lose fat would be by weightlifting. So, I rated all of them as bad and try not to follow their advices unless I've done my own research. And yeah, they are fine with partial squat sweat.gif

Hello guys, how do you guys think about this workout? No lifting weight no equipment, is this suitable for people for wants to grow bigger in size?

http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_p...ams/insanity.do

The secret to these mind-blowing INSANITY workout results: MAX Interval Training. Shaun T took traditional interval training and flipped it on its head—you perform long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest. Each INSANITY workout keeps you constantly challenged as you alternate between aerobic and anaerobic intervals performed at your MAX. The result: burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour and get the most insane body in 60 days.

looks like a fun way to workout.

but understand the fundamentals before you try it out.

if you burn 1000 cals per hour in that workout, but eat 1000 cals above maintenance level for your body, you still aint gonna lose weight. get it? diet is AS important as your workout.

Bloody hell. Have any of you ever had a lat strain? And have you ever had it caused by training legs? Because I have... twice. Both times this strain has come up is right after leg day. I'm suspecting front squats but I'm thinking "Wtf, how?!". This is irritating. shakehead.gif mad.gif

Oh I actually see the full video of Insanity. I can only recommended this if you dont have weight and plan to work out in your house. The exercise take a lot of endurance and time plus you have to do it 4-5 times a week. So the problem would be your mentality whether to continue it for the next 3 months or so. But looking at before and after pic, they do grow big but not THAT big. If you want to be muscular lean and have strong determination and time, go for it.

Personally, I like George St. Pierre's Rushfit. Its not boring and the videos is very nice. However, Rushfit will make ur body looks like a MMA fighter. So you become more leaner compare to Insanity.

now, good ol' weight is the best for me.

Thank you so much guys for the reply, I have only done this thing for 1 week so far, I usually die out at last 8~10 minutes, managed to do first 30 minutes only. I can't really afford to go to gym so i guess this is good way for me. Do you guys think I should get protein whey from my friend? He bought it and did not use it, so he would sell me for a cheaper price. thumbup.gif

From my opinion, it is a good routine for cutting and adding a little bit of muscle to your body. You can see it from the before and after pic (if it is a true before and after pic). All of them have shred some pounds of fat and the muscle definition increase because of the fat loss. If your goal is to lose fat, this is a very good workout. If you want to build muscle, there are other routine but most of them need the availability of machine and weights from gym.

But still, just like -mikehuan said, you can burn 1000 of calories everyday but if you eat more than that, you ain't gonna lose the weight. Further more, there are a lot of free workout routine that can help you lose the fat.

Should be front squats man, your lats are bracing the weight on the way down me thinks. Add that to speed movements and its possible

I'm having a lat strain now too zz, left shoulder blade. Thinking its db rows but can't be sure. Last few reps were in terrible form

Anyways, how do you guys normally workout? Let's just say today is biceps, back and abs. Do you workout like #1 Bicep Exercise, #2 Bicep Exercise, #3 Bicep Exercise then #1 Back #2 Back #3 Back then #1 Abs #2 Abs #3 Abs OR in a circuit way, for example #1 Bicep #1 Back #1 Abs then #2 Bicep #2 Back #3 Abs and so on? Just curious smile.gif #1,2,3 states the type of exercises.

True that. I did increase the weights this time, so that could've been it. In any case, it sucks. shakehead.gif

For me, if two big muscle groups, alternate them first before doing any smaller muscle groups

If one big group and one small, big muscle groups first, not alternating.

Thanks guy for all the tips.

Today I went to the gym again to do the routine mentioned above, but this time some complications arose.

After I did my sets for squats, I was helping my friend spot for his squats at the squatting station (at least I think it's the squatting station). He's strong but he did something lighter than what he used to do at another gym which was 45lbs at each side. He's short, so after I did my sets we had to move the bar lower down, but the 45lbs weights were semi-"melted" so they got stuck to the pins when we were trying to move it. So we both had to move to one side to try and pull the weights out of the pin, not knowing that it was falling off on the other. So this ang moh guy came and put it back to place for us without saying anything, we thanked him.

But after that, we attracted alot of attention when my friend was doing his set (which he did without much struggle). This lady trainer came up to me and told me to ask him to stop as it was gym rules, and that it was dangerous and we should use the static machines to build more muscles before attempting this.

My friend was pissed, I confused.

Was there something we did wrong? Are there marchines to substitute the deadlifts and squats in the Jaya gym?

I think it was something about doing over our weight.

He was squatting without struggling though, he did heavier before. Perhaps it was because he was rather short, like under average short for his age. It was just 45pounds on each side...
