Hi guys, I encountered one problem on my machine either running on HyDrOG3N-ICS 08.04 or CM9 latest builds. The problem was when I intended to read/send/reply my texts;its gives an error 'unfortunately messaging has stopped'. Btw, i restored all my apps and system data with titanium backup. Any advise would be greatly appreciated notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Try clear your Messaging apps data.

Just saw a video about a fully jail broken iPhone.
I didnt know iPhone can be so cool. Kinda feel like it just went super saiyan mode.

Good thing android can already do most of the things shown in the video now,
But the one in the video are really smooth, especially the notification bar.

Still love android though, but if ios6 include all those features, then android won't have many things to boast about over the iPhone.

Yeah, actually, even from the 1st Generation iPhone, all the theming and tweaking were already possible. Nothing much to shout about actually. A lot of it are just superficial tweaks.

Android still has many advantages, and the Play Store apps are catching up to the App Store's very quickly. Re: Android advantages other than changing themes, it's been gone through thousands of times before, so I won't bother elaborating.

Actually I just set mine to use 2g all the time, I mean edge connection.
And toggle it on / off using jkmod , either in 2g mode or offline mode.

If I'm not mistaken, keep toggle 2g and 3g may waste more batt.
Cos when I change 2g to 3g, I notice the phone lags a bit, it seems to disconnect current signal, and reconnect again.
Go settings, under wireless n network, change from GSM only to wcdma only, you'll see what I mean.
Signal drop to zero, then reconnect back.

This is just based on my guess. No source. Correct me if I'm wrong.

One thing you should be wary of when going 2G only. When your phone is using EDGE, you won't be able to receive calls. For a phone like mine which is always drawing data from Whatsapp, Facebook etc, that's a very big deal.

I've missed a lot of calls without knowing until DIGI sent me a "missed calls" SMS. It was then that I realized this problem. It's not a problem with Samsung, it's the network's problem. I've tried with DIGI, Maxis and Celcom and also with other phones like iPhone, same thing.

So I'd still recommend leaving 3G on. Unless of course, you don't get a lot of incoming calls, in which case, it probably shouldn't matter. Just a heads up.

yes, everything have pros and cons. i used iphone 4 before, too much tweaks will slow down the phone.

Really? Din notice this at all. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have data plan. I only on my 2g when I wan to send and receive mms.
So most of the time its off.

Added on April 10, 2012, 12:59 amI just figured out the BLN means back light notification, I saw this in check rom kitchen.
That's great to have, means the soft keys will shine if got miss call or message right?

Love to try it, but it says support certain kernals only.
I am using the original kernal from check rom. Din change any kernal. The check rom ori kernal support BLN or not? This is a super useful feature to have. Even my old Nokia x6 got this, miss this feature a lot,

Well there is your problem, you restored system apps. Don't do that unless you are sure what app they are and would not overwrite the rom original system apps.

Litening was popular long time ago when SGS2 came out cos not much choice of rom then as well. Thats why the post count is high. The developer stop for quite sometime and return now with ICS roms.

By now there are so many other roms and choices. Especially AOSP/AOKP roms. brows.gif

Is the pinch to zoom included in SGS2? I am on AOKP now so cannot check.

Is it a must to install modem? Whats the function of it? I installed the cyanogenmod 9 to my sgs2. Didn't seem like much to me, except for the interface. and my calls are frequently dropped. not to mention there is no 3g. Anyone care to explain how to downgrade back to original ICS or to a better ROM?!

CM9 does not install modem, so your using whatever modem you were using on previous rom. CM9 does have 3G and my calls are not dropping not once. You may have done a bad flash.

Ah that makes sense, it's like how on calls the E goes missing, but think if it's on H+ or whatever data can stay up. Generally goes down to GSM mode on calls anyways though.

Yeah would be a problem with phone getting massive whatsapp messages. Hmm but it does help with battery. Gah

Turkbey and Criskelo got ICS so those two are GB -> ICS developers.. lotsa experience..

Hydrog3n seems kindda new, but not that bad..

Just wait for CheckROM to hve ICS, they're one of the famous dev for GB custom ROMs..

Try out any ROM; Sensation, Litening, etc etc.. they're all different.. and if u decided to go back to GB can always head to CheckROM..

BLN didn't use much battery juice lor...so it safe to use it.
Like i said before bro., use your phone to its fullest. No need restrict everything. Enjoy it..battery kong..slap in your spare battery :-P
Be thankfull SGSII using removable battery and not like HTC One X. Hopefully SGS3 won't follow HOX on its un-removable battery features.
