Fedex love to collect custom tax, I would avoid them if possible.

Use DHL in the future. Try to give a call to Fedex to check out what is happening there.

Yup.. fedex is real *hitttt.. my item only RM240 + RM80 (shipping) but fedex put nowhere amount as air freight charge (RM298++)
so my item with freight is above RM500++ and declare to custom tax need to pay RM200++ .. item weight only 0.4KGM... already confirm from Customs Putrajaya that shipping calculation is from original... I got invoice.. transcation record or any....

What I suppose to do... ??

I am facing exactly the same problem now. My total cost is USD1++. My shipping is below USD50 only. Fedex Malaysia decides my shipping is RM379.98 based on an ambiguous 'freight charge schedule', and modifies my total cost to over RM500 and hence declares it as taxable by customs, which is RM2++.

They did not submit the customs declaration with the original invoice but instead uses an invoice with a number which I cannot find on my invoice or anywhere else. I have reasons to believe the customs form they show me is a fabrication and their 'official receipt' from customs is suspect.

I think there is an element of fraud here and it has been going on for a number of years. Is there anyway we can gather victims of their fraud, launch an investigation and a US equivalent of a class action lawsuit?

Before you start shooting. Please go talk to Customs at KLIA.
The Customs decide what are the standard freight charges for the shipment regardless of what Fedex gave them There is a charges weight matrix. If you can show them actual payment proof and etc, they will let you pass. Go talk to PK (Pengarah Kastam) on duty.

Not possible as I am not in KL.

Also Fedex indicates that they have paid the duty on my behalf and they have a receipt to 'prove' it and they want to bill me the amount they paid. The problem with the receipt is it's not in my name, and instead they put their name on it with a company registration number of another third party company.

I am posting the letter they sent me to justify their claim that my freight charge is RM379.98 (from USA) instead of the RM136 I paid to Fedex USA (see third picture). My package weight is 1.8kg.

Can anybody understand the content of the letter? Any other courier company is using this?

From what I have discovered so far, the CAPEC MALAYSIA has the same address as Fedex Malaysia (http://www.fedex.com/my/dropoff/). This is very suspicious.

Fedex International charges is expensive, if your items weight is 1.8kg, the total charge is start from around USD150 above.
Fedex is one of the CAPEC member.

Dear pepelepew, I'll never use any other shipping rate calculator provided by any website because it's not accurate, outdated and sometime provide nonsense rate. Use only Fedex shipping calculator if you want to get (almost) exact total shipping charge.

what you buy?
if computer related accessories/equipments, not all of it is exempted from tax.
