HU = Head Unit = your player.

In KL the Rainbow SLX is about RM800 give or take. My Myvi has the stock HU connected to the Rainbow SLX component set and that's it. I recently added an active subwoofer under the seat and that's all I plan to do to the car. My Myvi is pretty much stock inside and out.

DIY installation is quite simple once you understand how things are connected and how they work. Do you know how to strip the interior of your Kancil?

When you survey for components check out the sensitivity, usually measured in decibels (dB). Anything higher than 90 should suffice.

I smell poison. Anaconda level poison. laugh.gif

Morel, Dynaudios, Scanspeaks, DLS all need powerful amps to run them otherwise they'll sound crappy. But I do agree with hans18, buying these 2nd hand and slowly building up your ICE is better than jumping into an entry level setup and upgrading every 2 months

No, I personally think HU is last. But to be honest though, the output is only as good as its source, so HU upgrade should provide a difference in sound. But I suggest to do this last cuz the speakers need to be in place and the amps too, then once that's done upgrade the source (HU) and it'll be like "WHOA" difference in terms of SQ

good and valid pointers, personally though i would go with HU + component set path. but of course depends on your existing HU and the functions you need/want.

for my case, 12 years old proton stock HU = cassette, so.. yeah. no matter how you want it, you're getting a HU replacement first for sure, thus HU + component set then amp + sub path

Sorry, I disagree.

I noticed some just want upgrade because dunno what to upgrade from their lousy system. Some spend hundred on "very good" brand... some spend hundred on wrong setup...

My idea is HU still need to change, just change it first and see how it goes from there.

My opinion is to do the comps and amp 1st. A lot of ppl are ordy satisfied after that. Not to mention many ppl love their steering controls. As if the HU is mounted under the seat or in the boot, cannot even stretch your hand 1ft away.
After those 2 changes, if still not satisfied then they will go a bit more seriously into SQ, starting with the HU.
Needless to say, if your HU still plays cassette then have to change la.
