QUOTE(CasualDrive @ Apr 16 2012, 02:17 PM) Test driven both the Elantra(1.6 & 1.8) as well as Forte (1.6 & 2.0). After much agonizing deliberation for a week, decided to book Elantra 1.8. 1st choice color Hyper metallic, 2nd choice color : silver. So in Pg we hv Tony, Coral35, Wieboy & who else? Seriously I find the power food mirror useful in Pg & was one of the reason I hesitate so long before booking. If anyone knows any aftermarket contact, pls share ok. I am from PG as well. Today received call from SA asking whether I want to take 1.8 Black color or not, the owner has loan issue so they are giving it out to the people in waiting list. My choice is 1.8 Silver or White, black is my last choice so i rejected the offer. Then he told me 1.6HS will be available this week, now I am considering downgrade to 1.6HS to get the car faster, and RM15K cheaper compare to 1.8. Is 1.6 really under power? Driving in island doesn't need a very powerful engine though. The other thing that concern me is the HU, but looks like we can get a cheaper version in after market.

I guess u better test drive yourself. If u r not particular about immediate acceleration, 1.6 may be ok for you but do go and make yr own judgement to see if it suits u. Aftermarket hu, I believed will soon be available with plug and play so will b pretty neat. Btw, did yr SA indicate when yr 1.8 is coming? If it not so long away, may as well stick to yr original plan. Good to know d number of new elantras owner is growing in Pg.

Most things are plug and play these days, and car's circuitry wills always have a few spare idle sockets here and there that you can use. It should be fine as long as no two circuitry comes together through non-default configuration. This post has been edited by FluidicSculpture: Apr 16 2012, 09:39 PM

Or maybe even autolock as well.?
