Did you test the 1.8 or the 1.6? And how does it compare with the forte 2.0 and 1.6 in your opinion?
I've these two cars in my consideration as well

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Apr 7 2012, 11:36 PM) Actually I'd tested both several times now. (just wanna make sure and clear my doubts of all the questions) How's the power delivery for the 1.6 elantra? Now I can say that I am 90% sure to get an Elantra now. As you know, I am deciding between the 1.6STD and Forte SX and my first has always been the Elantra. Since I had clear my doubt on the power for both (it's the same for me actually) so I had to go with Elantra. Sorry, I know I don't really make sense here but just to cut short, I just love Hyundai more than Kia. Personally I'm really tempted by the offer for the forte but there's already one in the family (1.6 though), but like you I couldn't get my mind off the elantra. Congrats! Placed your booking already? Last time I asked, the SA told me that I'd have to wait 2-3 months for 1.6 and up to 4 months for the 1.8. Added on April 7, 2012, 11:43 pm QUOTE(LTG @ Apr 7 2012, 11:39 PM) red is sonata red lolx , waiting list is depend on loan approval then only put in the queue . Congrats to you too!my 1.8 white coming this end of the month ~ Added on April 7, 2012, 11:40 pm i also get white , but white is hard to maintain oh .. you confident can cuci every week? I'm currently torn between the red and the white... haha This post has been edited by ihatemyguts: Apr 7 2012, 11:43 PM |

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Apr 7 2012, 11:57 PM) As mentioned earlier, it's only available during the second batch. If I've decided on the colour, I can wait. The SA also All the customers are requesting that color. haha!! Current car is still working fine (touchwood). The Ice blue that I saw in the puchong showroom seems ok too. hmm |

QUOTE(caddilac @ Apr 7 2012, 11:59 PM) SD is really confusing. My SA told me Red is available in first batch and 1.6hs can get car within a month. Santorini only 2nd batch Also one of my worries with the tomato red. Added on April 8, 2012, 12:01 am Ice blue seems very popular. But i am worrying that the colour may fade as the waja one |

In the brief 10 minutes i've sat in the car last week, fit and finish seemed good to me.
At least it seemed on par with my friend's sonata, which is CBU. Or maybe I'm just easily satisfied, hey i'm no hyundai insider to know whether the parts were made locally or not |

Went to another showroom to check the car out/dig more offers/info today.
There are so many negative comments regarding the interior space, fit and finish, door closing feeling and whatnot. My friend was 178cm and with the driver's seat in his preferred position, me at 174 cm still had plenty of legroom. The fittings seemed good and lush enough for me. (Although i've a minor gripe with the red stitching on the leather) The feeling of closing the door was also solid enough for me. Not saying anyone's just making up things or nitpicking, but I suggest everyone to go see the car in the metal to form your own opinions on it. Now to arrange for a test drive, next week. |

QUOTE(Kalist0 @ Apr 8 2012, 11:39 PM) imo, forte's refinement is pretty bad. yes, its packed with features and all that but when you look carefully at the built up, its pretty rough. as for elantra, i have no idea what are the people complaining comparing with, BMW? for me, it doesn't lose out much with my civic or i could say the interior quality is about the same. further more, its better than forte's quality even for a CKD. I agree. My family has a forte, and while the quality is pretty good as well, I still found the elantra's better, and felt more premium. |

QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Apr 9 2012, 12:31 AM) since u haf a forte in the family, can i ask, do u think the price diff is worth it for the Elantra? Comparing spec to spec... the financial-minded side of me would say no, but the designer side of me says yes. Most people around me, including my parents do not think it's worth the extra 20k (for 2.0 vs 1.8). |

Is it possible to get the 1.8 minus the gps and all?
I kinda prefer the one on the 1.6hs to be frank. |

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Apr 10 2012, 10:10 AM) getting my loan approve now Be sure to keep us updated here! mentioned slightly after 1 months. will wait n see how it goes how bout u? wait for batch 2? My plan was always to get a car closer to the end of 2012 or in early 2013. I just have this habit of starting my research early Unless I suddenly get a ridiculously good offer for my current car. p/s : saw a red forte near my office today, so beautiful |

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Apr 10 2012, 10:23 AM) oh ya just remembered u mentioned earlier u r scouting for now and getting end of the year. I wasn't a big fan of red cars, actually.but i don't think the forte red is the same as elantra red lo .. seemed like u like red color hor Until I saw the sonata in red. If the elantra's is the same (SA said slightly lighter shade), it's a done deal for me. Haha yup, getting further away from the forte now |
