Asus is more costly then TPLink. If you have the extra dollar to blow why not.

One last question: Is TP-Link W8960N reliable enough for router replacement?

And around what is the good price to go for?

Thanks in advance!

Added on May 8, 2012, 9:46 pmor the cheaper TL-WR841N is more than enough?

Added on May 8, 2012, 9:57 pmRegarding TL-WR841N, do I need to flash the firmware myself, or the default will do for iptv?

Question : I have Unifi Biz5 installed. I read in the handbook site configuration for Unifi Biz and Home different?

Because I'm thinking to change the supplied router by TM (black color) to other model since it always cause me hang and need to restart (on/off) back for the internet to work.

And do the high RAM helps a lot from the router to freeze and need to turn off/on again?

There was an electrical /power supply cut off at my apartment in Bayu Puteri (Tropicana PJ) during mid-night. After the electricity has resumed, my unifi is not working. There is no lights on the 'Internet' and 'VOP 1' LED.

It happens everytime there was a power cut. Anyone encoutner this problem before? Would appreciate if anyone of you could share your experience.

Tks!!

Edit: If its the one @ 47301 PJ, looks like the whole MSAN died and just came up 7~ minutes ago. Would check the backup power at the MDF room if it only happens during power cuts.

Been using TPLINK TL-WR841ND for few month without any problem, just recently change to use TL-WR1043ND for the gigabit LAN speed, my personal opinion TPLINK is good enough for few user to share the internet. Asus is good but i'm facing some minor problem when using Asus RT-N56U right after my Unifi was installed, after i change to TPLINK, no more problem.

If it is interesting enough, people might pay for it, unlike Astro where more channels mean price increase, no choice. With unifi, we have choice of picking individual channels .. give us crappy channels and we won't pay.

If you torrent alot or there are alot of users on connected to the AP of the router then the RAM would help. If you are just a residential user with torrenting here and there. Then just get the TPLINK it will be way better then the black TM router.

Been using the TPLink 841 for past 8 months now. Never needed to restart it. My NAS/Media Player/IPTV/seedbox/6 wireless devices/2 wired PC is hooked up on the router all the time and never once it hanged or gave issues.

only thing I need for now is a decent movies channel something like HBO, FMP or CINEMAX. At least something equivalent.

It is that area and seems the UNIFI connection went down again approx 1 hr ago for myself.
It is still not getting connected back again since then.
Tried the usual reboots to no avail.

p/s: connected via tethering now.
