Guys, I recently upgraded my default TM router to Asus RT-N56U and now after 1-2 weeks of usage, it started to give few problems already. As today morning when I woke up, I cant access the internet and I found out that the Connection type has been changed to "Automatic IP" instead of "PPPoE". After I changed it back to "PPPoE" it went up back again. After 20min of usage, it hanged. I cant access the router page at all and all Wi-Fi user cant access the internet. After I restarted the router, it was ok till 2-3 hours of usage, it disconnected and renew the WAN IP by itself. I checked the System Log and I found this :

Even people in TM admited that DIR-615 is horrible. I highly recommend that if you have any plans of using WiFi , get the router replaced

Hi, dear forummer, I am confused after reading many pages of this thread. I have Unifi for about 2 yrs now, everything original setup by TM technician from day 1, which means the so-called dreaded (not to me) DIR 605 Orange D-Link modem (still FW: 7.05), everything is "almost" perfect since day 1, never drop line, WiFi is perfect throughout my terrace DS house. The only problem is the TPLink IPCam get drop connection with this DIR 615. Many forummer have chosen to buy Asus/TPlink etc to replace the DIR 615, does the 3rd party modem work better aka faster speed than TM's, please help to share your "before and after" experience changing to 3rd party modem. I may consider "upgrade" to this 3rd party modem if it really improve the speed for both Internet and WiFi. TQ in advance.

hi guys, i'm looking for a router that has QOS which can control ethernet port speed(example : port 1 max 1mb, port 2 max 2mb), previously i was using DD-WRT on my WRT-54GL but i believe that router not so compatible with unifi.

so what is the cheapest router that can serve that purpose?

All UNIFI Taikor,

I had installed my UNIFI, my modem and router at 2nd floor. My queries is can I use Homeplug HL110E to put on my router and also Homeplug HL110EW (Wireless) on 1st floor. Can the Homeplug HL110EW (Wireless) connect to my HPPTV because it come with 2 lan port and the other hand also boost my 1st floor signal?

Your expertise are very much appreciated.

IPTV should work but not as wireless boost because IPTV is on a different VLAN.
