Haven bought those cleaning kit for my K&N air filter, so last Saturday decided to clean filter using airgun after unclean for >20k km adi... sweat.gif
Since clean job is FOC, so i went to 2 shops to clean it, do double cleaning. tongue.gif
Wow, the difference is so huge, now the pedal feel alot more responsive and lighter....

Wanna raise some discussion on after market air filter.

Some said those good air flow filters are actually poor in filtration,
so last week i did some checking on the air box.

I using my hand to rub the internal of upper air box and the air hose (after filter), i din notice any dirt on my hand, what i get is as clean as original. I have been using this K&N since 20k, now almost used for 45k adi.

I read the article for filtration performance thread posted by someone here previously, the high pressure air suction to test the filter. I think Apexi is the best for that test.

Anyway, i doubt about those testing method. IMO, our engine air suction actually is not as strong as in that test, so for particle to pass through filter still very minimal, proved by my checking result. What i'm thinking is for after-filter airbox/airhose area, new car until now 63k, i din clean it/wipe it even once, if the particle still can pass through (even very less), sure it will left a black mark on my hand, but it didn't.

So i think best airflow = poor filtration theory is not valid in real world application. Just my thought, you can share your opinion if any. smile.gif

Check throttle body, not airbox.

And also, depends on where you driving, and driving style. If you like to rev, dirt will accumulate more, since you're sucking in more air than usual.

2. Prior to the service, the car does not emit a beep when locking or unlocking the doors. Now it does.
---
Question:
2. Did you guys experience the same for Observation No. 2?
*
did u know that we can enable or disable the alarm beep?
to do that press both button on the key at the same time to enable/disable.

at service centre they like to hear beep coz it's easier for them, unless they just trigger the alarm to find the car

Abang, warm up the CVT and the clutch, not the engine.

hmm.gif hmm.gif

Then it can't be help I guess. All I can suggest is to wait for the RPM to stabilize after shifting into R, then only press the throttle. For some reason the CVT's R gear is finicky.

1)Idling speed too low
2)Vacuum instability(if there is a vacuum hose,could be leak/disconnected)
3)Wrong petrol(result in retarded ignition)
4)Low combustian pressure. Gasket leak(ever overheat your engine before? Check the rocker cover surrounding see whether greassy or dry)

Last thing u can check is whether it makes a different with/without aircond. If without aircond no such problem, then its loosen throttlebody result in vacuum leak.

Regardless of your finding, you're advise to go back SC to rectify unless your warranty ady void.

Someone mentioned the CVT engages a set of planetary gears for R, maybe the gears causes slightly extra load for the engine that the ECU did not account for.

Just a theory, though.
