Woow. The big file on Flickr looks superb.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jun 4 2012, 08:59 AM)
there should be.
current 300mm f/4 still has aperture ring, nikon seems to be updating all lenses to G now.
300mm f/2.8 already G and VR2.
Yeah. The aperture ring is there because it's one of the first Nikkor lenses to receive AF-S update. The same generation as the 17-35mm f/2.8.

I actually am not too picky. I don't mind the older 300mm f/2.8 either and like the current optics in the AF-S 300mm f/4, they are already excellent. I only wish the 300mm f/4 was a little faster. If I were to upgrade, I would look for a faster AF-S motor.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jun 4 2012, 08:59 AM)
either that, or wait for 100-300 f/4.
hopefully both with nano coat and made in china so will be cheaper biggrin.gif
LOL We can only hope. The 100-300mm f/4 would be excellent.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jun 4 2012, 08:59 AM)
LOL.
ND filter too troublesome, unless get lee / cokin then can take off / on anytime.
If I want to go Super GT, I need to get one myself. Slow shutter speed will hit into very small apertures ---> difraction !

QUOTE(gnome @ Jun 4 2012, 12:02 PM)
Really its a worthy upgrade. Sharper, better color and smoother bokeh thumbup.gif
Yeah, I thought about the 50mm f/1.8G too but the thing is I don't see myself using it. My 50mm f/1.8D is one of my most unused lens.

QUOTE(gnome @ Jun 4 2012, 12:02 PM)
Now im thinking of getting 85mm F1.8G nod.gif
I also thought about this but I currently have the AF 85mm f/1.4D. The newer lenses produce sharper image and faster focus but is the sacrifice on slower aperture worth it? Would I just be loosing out on 2/3rds of a stop going to the newer f/1.8G?

wanna ask ar, for those body with build in motor, if i use AF-S lens it will focus faster than body without motor? or it will use the lens motor and not the body motor?

focusing in low light also more accurate with build in motor at the body? hmm.gif

Dude, this is some good stuff. Wanna ask u something, that light behind the subject in this context, would it be regarded as the key light? Also, is there a sort of rule of thumb u use when it comes to the angle of the light?

built in motor is the screw driver
AF-S lenses doesn't have the rotating screw anymore

but says you use 50 1.8G on D3100 vs on D3s.. sure you know which focus faster whistling.gif

but since there are many many non AF-S lens but still can use, so i guess nikon still continue to put that thing to more advance camera

Ahh thx.. Normally the key light is the light that makes the subject stands out but in this photo the light wasn't suppose to hit her face but instead make a rim light along her hair/shoulders to stand out of the background.. but we got to comfortable n the talent was making the poses as I was shooting so we didn't really bother haha

Its actually a 3 light set up.. Key light was on the front left of the talent.. The light left-behind the model act as a rim light and another fill light at the right of her face! biggrin.gif

PM me your number, let's meet up!

Just confirmed my 50mm f/1.8G... my latest toy for Super GT xD

My range will be 16-35, 50, 70-200. Decided to leave my 35 or 85 at home because those lens are big and requires another pouch -.- not to mention overlapping with my zooms.
