Sinbad, have you measured your sitbone? If not, suggest to go to Spez shop and get it measured. Atleast by then you will have a ballpark figure on the saddle width that suits you. Then choose from there...

Surprised that you find the Tundra comfier than the Gobi. Tundra is narrower right?

Anyway, it seems like you prefer saddles with a flat profile (like the Tundra) rather than the raised rear (like the Gobi).

So now you can shortlisting saddles with the flat profile. Also you might wanna try saddles with a recessed center, some prefer those.

Just my two cents...

Alright guys. Since my last post is about wheelsets and forks, I've decided to save up to about Rm1.6k (sufficient)to get a ztr+hope hubs wheelset.

Apart of that goal, along the way I would like to try the clipless pedals and after reading up, deore xt pedals seems recommended. So the question is will every mtb shoes be able to clip on it?

And, as seen in bbs, can I compare the prices at bbs and the shops as guideline for not be cheated by the salesman at the bike shops?

Thanks.
*
KSH TTDI is selling prebuild ZTR+HOPE for RM1.4k IINM.

Pedal brand must match the cleats brand. If Shimano pedals, must use with Shimano cleats. If using CB pedals, must use back CB cleats lo. There's only two type of clipless ready shoes. One for road, one for MTB. Mounting hole different.

BBS pricing is pretty good most of the time. Unless you're regulars to that particular shop, most of the time BBS will be cheaper. Also depending on what lah... sweat.gif

Me looking for pair of eye wear... Any recommendation ka?

Well, if you can find a rim with internal width wider than 21mm and still weigh less than 400gms that doesn't cost a bomb, do let me know.

QUOTE(dickybird @ Jun 6 2012, 09:53 PM)
mini poll, who wears cleats and who is in the flat pedal brigade?
just my opinion ok, cleats are so gay! tongue.gif

Cedric Garcia, Steve Peat, Aaron Gwin, Danny Hart rides clipless.

Actually I have the same thinking as you... Until I ridden in PCP the 1st time clipped in and I manage to pedal up the steep cemented slope from bottom to the top (where the DH trails starts) on my singlespeed. When I'm on platform I can't even pedal up with grannies on a geared bike.

Bro, last week I think I was in the Kampung trail (from the pix you guys posted). Seems like the 'development for the greater good in Kiara' has destroyed 1/2 of it. Ended up got lost dunno go where... cry.gif

Changing tube is much easier than using a puncture kit. For me at least.
Puncture kit is used when you're at home and, IF didn't leave the punctured tube in the middle of the trail (a lot of people do this and they SHOULDN'T), you patch it at home.

Where you guys buy those tampal tampal for tubes ar? Last time sent to bicycle shop, kena perli telling me nowadays where got people tampal tube wan? doh.gif

Not exectly in strict WW per say, but to make a bike lighter will always net a performance gain. Even in DH sectors.

Last time I bought Park Tools patch kit from Yong Advance Cycles. If correctly patch, it can last. As long as it's not a tube seam tear.

Ah, great news on the lower pricing of the wheelsets. Thanks man!

Hm, sad to hear. Been looking to some specialized shoes and damn some are nice looking indeed. Will try to window shop around for shimano shoes later.

Also, thanks for the tips for comparing the price. Honestly tho, I know peanuts about this bicycle components and stuff. So, good to know where I can my basis for prices to be expected for the items.

Thanks again all. smile.gif

i wonder if this is worth it?  how about its durability when going uphill?  what about rough uneven cement roads, can the small wheels handle it?

Looks like an awesome weapon to attack Kiara 2k! thumbup.gif

Seriously, try asking in the road bike thread? They might have more experience with foldies.

First of, my hats off salute to you for your effort and time, Sinbad. You're a good man pursuing a noble cause.

But this letter it seems like they're bringing for a ride around taman rather thay stating any actions to be taken.

FSR and their BRAINS tech is over played. FSR is basically a modified 4 link suspension and BRAINS are known to have occasional spikes on it suspension stroke. The Float or Monarch series does a much better job.

Just get a bottle of paint stripper and go crazy. Some of the nook and crannies might need a few runovers. I just went raw with brushed effect. Basically just sandpaper the whole frame. Aluminum will oxidize over time, so it will be darker than when it's new.

If your frame's chromoly/steel, better to have a layer of clear coat as rust is a definite problem.

If you plan to repaint it, what I read is best to get a primer that works well with aluminum.
