Ridden a friend's bike with a Manitou before. It is plush. Pay extra RM250 and you'll get
1. Remote Lockout 2. Compression damping 3. 100gm lighter
All in all, less than RM100/benefits wor?

QUOTE(Semuabumi @ Jul 27 2012, 10:09 PM) I have this with me now, practically riding in the park in the evening. It was a gift from a cousin from the State. I understand this is a freeride / Am bike. He says this bike is well known in the State and it does all things. That sir, is a Jamis Parker II frame. Depending on the build, it would usually means it's a Slopestyle bike. Basically it's a competition Freeride bike. Meant to take the punishment of DJ and tricks. But it will be out of it's element on Freeride/AM territory. From your pix, looks like it's build as it is. Slopestyle. The fork's a Lyrik right? A 2x9 with a long cage derailleur is a recipe for chainslap city IMHO. But then again, it it's basic form, it's ready for Kiara

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Jul 28 2012, 01:10 AM) IINM, I believe that would be a Domain 160mm. They don't make Parkers anymore rite? 160mm? Doesn't looks like it wor? Izit lowered? Don't think they make Parker anymore. The older gens are known to snapped at the chainstay/dropout area IINM.

QUOTE(Semuabumi @ Jul 28 2012, 11:04 PM) It is a domain fork. Thought of changing to single crank with bash. I guess it would withstand most punishments in Malaysia soil wouldn't it. snapping at the c/stay , I don't think with my amateur ridding it would snap. Very likely that I am going to snap my bones b4 the c/stay...right? With 68 degree head angle I think it will handle slope and decent well. I read that lower head angle is good for decent as most xc bike is above 70 degree. Freeride/Am/ Dh all are at least 68 degree and below. What you seniors comment? 1x9 is very much doable. Especially if you're not into epic rides and all. You can save up to a kilo or more too.

Heavy feet, light hands is the way of body positioning.
Weighing too much upfront while doing a drop, endo. Weighing too much at the rear, kena 'slingshot' when doing a drop will ended up in endo as well.

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Sep 1 2012, 10:56 AM) What is so great about RRI trails? I only see flat double tracks everywhere. Can't seem to enjoy cycling there but some of the crowd seems to differ. There are a few route there that are pretty fun Kiara too skerry and hardcore sometimes

QUOTE(cheewooi @ Sep 3 2012, 11:56 AM) Checked all the rotor bolt are there with torque of 6NM as printed on HS1. I think most likely are uneven brake pad as it is quite new and I did some adjustment on the brake when I changed my wheelset. What do do if uneven brake pad? Should I just leave it and let it run till it worn out? The brake is Avid XO. After I changed my new brake, I went to Kiara twice only. I've seen so many instruction in the video on bleeding avid brake. I think the learning process is there. How much does LBS charge for bleeding brake especially XO or those ranged brake? Thanks Err... Have you check if your rotor's bent? Is there burnt marks on the rotor surface? Glazed pads?

If you've checked the shifter cable tension and indexing, most probably a bent derailleur hanger. Send it to a proper LBS to get it realigned.
